Financial Analysis 2025-26

Schools Financial Benchmarking Tool

The Schools’ Financial Benchmarking Tool helps schools compare their finances with similar schools and

make comparisons between income, balances, and workforce structures.

Benchmarking helps schools to:

• Make better informed decisions and triggers further discussion

• Facilitate peer learning and exchange of ideas between schools and academies

• Compare spending with other similar schools or academy trusts

• Consider how to use resources to support high quality teaching and education outcomes for pupils

• Consider wuther resource allocation are working or whether outcomes could be improved by doing

things different

Value for Money

At All Saints Catholic College, we strive to ensure the school delivers good value in the use of public

resources by carefully planning and managing our budgets and by identifying key areas and setting targets

for improved use of resources. We understand that achieving value for money in expenditure improves our

effectiveness in driving performance.

During the last financial year, improved value for money has been delivered by

• Negotiating discounts with regular suppliers and consolidating contracts where appropriate

• Working collaboratively with other local community schools, our Diocese and our LA, sharing best

practice and joining group deals

• Using the Government’s Crown Commercial Services purchasing platform for larger contracts

Charging and Remissions

We believe in the highest quality provision for our pupils, and we allocate resources appropriately, and

within guidelines, to ensure that good value for money is achieved. This policy is based on advice from the

Department for Education on charging for school activities and on the Education Act 1996, section 449-462

of which set out the law on charging for schools activities in England.
