Oxford University Trip

This week, 24 Year 10 students from All Saints Catholic College visited Oxford University for an inspiring day designed to raise aspirations and broaden horizons.

The visit provided students with a valuable insight into higher education, beginning with an engaging session exploring university pathways and the opportunities available through both Oxbridge and other leading universities. Students also had the chance to hear directly from current Oxford undergraduates, gaining first-hand perspectives on university life, applications and academic study.

A highlight of the day was a tour of the historic Oriel College, Oxford , where students explored the beautiful grounds, learned about Oxford traditions and enjoyed lunch in the college dining hall. The afternoon continued at Keble College, Oxford , where students experienced another side of university life, from its vibrant student community to its unique blend of historic and modern architecture.

The visit concluded with an academic workshop that challenged students to think critically, debate ideas and engage with university-style learning.

Experiences such as these play a vital role in helping young people see the possibilities available to them and understand that higher education can be an achievable goal, regardless of background.

Schola 5th Anniversary Concert | Handel's Messiah

Last week, All Saints Schola Cantorum celebrated its fifth anniversary with a landmark performance of Handel’s Messiah at Cadogan Hall , joined by a professional orchestra and soloists. We were also thrilled to welcome back Schola alumni to sing!

The concert showcased the exceptional musical standards that the Schola has developed over the past five years and reflected the ambition, discipline and commitment of the young people involved, including the huge dedication of the staff who have led on this: Mr Bick & Dr James Slimings

T he programme also featured Sir James MacMillan’s In Paradisum, a work commissioned for the Schola and premiered at Westminster Cathedral last June for the 8th anniversary mass for Grenfell.

Since its foundation, the Schola has established a reputation for artistic excellence, regularly collaborating with leading musicians, composers and performers. This anniversary concert was both a celebration of that achievement and a powerful reminder of the transformative opportunities that high-quality music education can provide.

Thank you to our students, alumni, staff, professional musicians, families and supporters whose dedication and encouragement made this special event possible. We are immensely proud of all involved and excited for what the future holds.

'Get up and Ride' is Back After Half Term!

We are excited to announce that our “Get on Your Bike” programme will be returning after half term. Organised by the Engagement Team, the initiative supports students through positive relationship-building activities outside of the classroom environment.

Students involved will have the opportunity to take part in supervised bike rides and picnic lunches with staff. The programme encourages teamwork, confidence, wellbeing, and healthy lifestyles, while also providing valuable mentoring opportunities in an enjoyable setting.

Cycling is a fantastic way to stay active and improve both physical and mental wellbeing. Research shows that regular cycling can help reduce the risk of heart disease and stroke, while also boosting mood and fitness levels.

We are very much looking forward to bringing this back after half term and giving students another exciting opportunity to get involved, stay active, and enjoy time outdoors.

The Big Future Survey

Please see attached below a letter sent to the school from Dame Rachel de Souza, the Children’s Commissioner for England, regarding her new national survey, The Big Future.

The survey aims to gather the views, concerns and aspirations of young people across the country and will help inform future policy and support for children and families. Dame Rachel is inviting schools to encourage pupils, with parental permission and under supervision, to take part.

As Children’s Commissioner, I am writing to ask you to ensure all of your children complete my new survey, The Big Future.

Under the Children Act 2004, it is my role to promote the views and interests of children in England, and I have done this so far by conducting the two largest ever children’s surveys: The Big Ask and The Big Ambition.

Now, for the first time, hundreds of thousands of children will be eligible to vote in the next general election, the biggest change to the franchise in half a century. Yet just one in five children say politicians listen to them. That’s why I’m launching my final survey, The Big Future.

I want to make sure that I hear from as many children as possible, aged 0–18, from all backgrounds, in all schools and colleges, and in every part of the country. To do that, I need your help.

I am asking you to share the survey with all the children, parents and carers in your school or college community. Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award

Our Year 10 students had a fantastic time completing their Duke of Edinburgh Bronze Award practice expedition from Ruislip to Chorleywood.

Throughout the experience, students demonstrated resilience, teamwork and determination while developing valuable navigation, communication and problem-solving skills. It was wonderful to see students supporting one another, showing independence and embracing the challenge with such positivity.

This is due to be an excellent couple of days, as students have worked incredibly hard in preparation for this throughout the year.

A huge well done to all students involved for their excellent attitude and effort throughout the expedition — a brilliant preparation for the qualifying expedition ahead!

London Youth Games Selection Success

Sublime T, Jakub W and Blake AD have earned selection to the London Youth Games basketball squad after an outstanding trial process involving more than 50 talented students from schools across in the city.

Competing against some of the strongest young players in London, all three impressed selectors with their skill, determination, teamwork and attitude on the court. Their achievement is a reflection of the countless hours of hard work and dedication they have shown throughout the season.

Representing the borough is a huge honour, and the entire school community is incredibly proud of their success and excited to see them compete at such as high level. We wish them all the best in the game next weekend!

The London Youth Games is Europe’s largest annual youth sports competition, bringing together young people from all 32 London boroughs and the City of London to compete in a wide range of sports.

Founded in 1977 to celebrate the Queen’s Silver Jubilee, the Games give thousands of young Londoners the opportunity to represent their borough in organised competition, regardless of ability or background.

Gaelic Football Club at ASCC

All Saints Catholic College PE Department is proud to introduce its first Gaelic Football Club as part of our growing sports clubs programme and PE curriculum. Gaelic football is a fast, skilful and inclusive team sport that gives pupils the chance to develop catching, kicking, passing, movement and decision-making skills.

The club also promotes teamwork, resilience, respect and leadership, while introducing pupils to an important part of Irish sporting culture. We hope it will give students of all abilities the chance to try something new, represent the school and be part of a positive sporting community at All Saints.

Curriculum Enhancement Day

Students enjoyed an exciting and enriching Curriculum Enhancement Day, with a wide range of activities designed to inspire creativity, teamwork and curiosity beyond the classroom.

In school, students took part in Team Challenge activities and worked together to solve problems with the Happy Puzzle Company, developing communication, resilience and collaboration skills in a fun and engaging way.

Across London, students explored a variety of cultural and educational experiences. Visits included the Science Museum, HMS Belfast, Kew Gardens and the Wallace Collection, giving students opportunities to deepen their learning through history, science, art and nature.

Other groups enjoyed a screening of Frankenstein alongside Spoken Word Poetry workshops, while students at the Institut Français experienced French language and culture first-hand. A visit to the Bread Factory offered a fascinating insight into food production and careers in industry, and students at Longridge Activity Centre challenged themselves through outdoor adventure activities and team-building exercises.

The day was a fantastic opportunity for students to learn in new environments, build confidence and create lasting memories with their peers.

GCSE Geography Fieldwork at Walton-on-the-Naze

As part of their Geography GCSE course, students took part in a field trip to Walton-on-the-Naze, where they carried out essential fieldwork linked to their studies. This experience formed a compulsory element of the GCSE specification and gave students the opportunity to apply their knowledge in a real-world setting.

Walton-on-the-Naze, located on the Essex coast, is well known for its striking cliffs, sandy beaches, and coastal management features. The area provides an excellent case study for understanding coastal processes, erosion, and the ways in which human intervention can shape and protect the coastline. Its mix of natural features and managed defences makes it particularly valuable for geographical investigation.

During the visit, students explored the impacts of coastal management and considered how these strategies affect both the environment and the local community. They conducted questionnaires and gathered primary data, developing key fieldwork skills while deepening their understanding of the relationship between physical geography and human activity.

The trip offered an engaging opportunity for students to bring their classroom learning to life and gain firsthand experience of a dynamic coastal environment - the blue skies and sunshine helped too!

Y7 Boys Football Victory

The impressive win means the team finishes 3rd in the QPR League after a strong season campaign. Their success also sees them progress to the Shield Final, where they will look to continue their excellent form.

Jack Petchey Achievement Awards Launch at ASCC

We are excited to be launching the Jack Petchey Achievement Awards at All Saints Catholic College, introducing a well-established programme that celebrates student achievement beyond the classroom.

The awards recognise effort, resilience, teamwork, and positive contributions to school life, with a strong focus on student voice through peer-on-peer voting. A key feature of the award is its peer-on-peer voting system. Students nominate and vote for classmates who they feel deserve recognition, giving them a voice in celebrating the achievements of others. This helps to build a strong sense of community and encourages students to support and appreciate one another.

Our first award will be linked to the Duke of Edinburgh expedition. At the end of the trip, students will vote for a peer who they feel most deserves recognition for their teamwork, helpfulness, and contribution to the group during the experience.

In addition, we will introduce the St Dominic’s Award, which will involve whole-school voting. This award will recognise a student who has demonstrated outstanding teamwork and friendship, particularly in challenging circumstances.

Each award winner receives a certificate and a badge, along with a grant that can be spent on something that benefits the wider school community—ensuring the impact of the award is shared.

We look forward to seeing our students celebrate and recognise each other through these awards, helping to build a supportive and positive school community. There will be 9 awards per year and we look forward to what this programme with bring to the school and pupils.

Politics Week at All Saints

This week, All Saints celebrated a vibrant and engaging Politics Week, giving students the opportunity to explore how democracy works and take part in their own mock election.

Throughout the week, students took part in a range of activities designed to deepen their understanding of politics and participation. These included exploring the Welfare State through “Newsflash” activities, reading and debating political manifestos in form time, and attending assemblies led by our Year 10 Citizenship students.

A highlight of the week was the hustings event on Wednesday, where Year 10 students campaigned passionately, sharing their ideas, distributing materials, and encouraging their peers to get involved.

The week culminated in a whole-school election on Friday, where students from Years 7–10 voted in the Drama Studio. The event, organised and run by students, gave everyone the chance to experience the democratic process first-hand and reflect on their own views.

The results were shared at the end of the day, following a full count, creating a real sense of excitement and engagement across the school.

Politics Week was a fantastic opportunity for students to develop their understanding of democracy, debate important issues, and practise respectful discussion — well done to all involved!

Humanities Trips!

On Thursday we had a fantastic day of enrichment for our Humanities students, with two exciting trips taking place across the year groups.

Our Year 10 Citizenship students visited the Houses of Parliament as part of their GCSE ‘Politics and Participation’ studies. They took part in an engaging workshop and guided tour led by the Parliament Education Team, gaining first-hand insight into how politics and power operate in the UK. Students represented the school brilliantly and made the most of this valuable learning experience.

Meanwhile, our Year 9 students enjoyed a trip to see Hamilton at the Victoria Palace Theatre. This inspiring performance brought together their learning across History, Music, and Drama — linking the American civil rights movement, hip-hop, and theatrical performance.

A wonderful example of learning outside the classroom!

The Children's Book Project

We are delighted to launch our Summer Term Book Gifting Event as part of the 2025–2026 Discovery Programme, in partnership with the Children’s Book Project — a literacy charity working to tackle book poverty.

Through this programme, every student has the opportunity to choose and take home six books across the year, completely free of charge, to keep or share.

Elev:8 Singing Competition

As part of the year-long Elev:8 programme, the Music Department at All Saints Catholic College has been transforming classrooms into pop band factories!

Students took on the challenge by spinning the wheel and being assigned a certified pop “banger” to learn by heart — complete with choreography. The results? Energetic, creative, and truly Wembley-worthy performances.

On Thursday, these fantastic acts were judged by Mr Walton, Miss Tyce, and special guest judge Tre Lowe (from The Apprentice and a multi-platinum selling artist).

The winning group earnt an incredible opportunity to record their track at Livingston Studios — home to artists such as The 1975, Burna Boy, Björk, Kanye West, Sam Smith, and Muse.

A brilliant celebration of talent, teamwork, and creativity — well done to all involved!

Safer Phones Bill Consultation at ASCC

We were honoured to host our local MPs and guests for an important discussion on children’s online safety.

Our local MP, Joe Powell, and Liz Kendall, Secretary of State for Science, Innovation and Technology attended alongside colleagues as part of ongoing work linked to the proposed Safer Phones Bill and wider government consultation. The discussion focused on how best to protect young people from the risks associated with social media and excessive screen time.

The event formed part of a broader engagement with the local community exploring what stronger regulation could look like.

We were proud to provide a platform for such an important and timely conversation.

Brothers and sisters,Christ is risen! Happy Easter!

For centuries, the Church has joyfully sung of the event that is the origin and foundation of her faith: “Yes, Christ my hope is arisen / Christ indeed from death is risen / Have mercy, victor King, ever reigning” (Easter Sequence).

Easter is the victory of life over death, of light over darkness, of love over hatred. It is a victory that came at a very high price: Christ, the Son of the living God (cf. Mt 16:16), had to die — and die on a cross — after suffering an unjust condemnation, being mocked and tortured, and shedding all his blood. As the true immolated Lamb, he took upon himself the sin of the world (cf. Jn 1:29; 1 Pet 1:18–19) and thus freed us all — and with us, all creation — from the dominion of evil.

But how was Jesus able to be victorious? What is the strength with which he defeated once and for all the ancient adversary, the prince of this world (cf. Jn 12:31)? What is the power with which he rose from the dead, not returning to his former life, but entering into eternal life and thus opening in his own flesh the passage from this world to the Father?

This strength, this power, is God himself for he is Love who creates and generates, Love who is faithful to the end and Love who forgives and redeems.

Christ, our “victorious King,” fought and won his battle through trusting abandonment to the Father’s will, to his plan of salvation (cf. Mt 26:42). Thus he walked the path of dialogue to the very end, not in words but in deeds: to find us who were lost, he became flesh; to free us who were slaves, he became a slave; to give life to us mortals, he allowed himself to be killed on the cross.

The power with which Christ rose is entirely nonviolent. It is like that of a grain of wheat which, having rotted in the earth, grows, breaks through the clods, sprouts, and becomes a golden ear of wheat. It is even more like that of a human heart which, wounded by an offense, rejects the instinct for revenge and, filled with compassion, prays for the one who has committed the offense.

Brothers and sisters, this is the true strength that brings peace to humanity, because it fosters respectful relationships at every level: among individuals, families, social groups, and nations. It does not seek private interests, but the common good; it does not seek to impose its own plan, but to help design and carry out a plan together with others.

Yes, Christ’s resurrection is the beginning of a new humanity; it is the entrance into the true promised land, where justice, freedom, and peace reign, where all recognize one another as brothers and sisters, children of the same Father who is Love, Life, and Light.

Brothers and sisters, through his resurrection, the Lord confronts us even more powerfully with the dramatic reality of our freedom. Before the empty tomb, we can be filled with hope and wonder, like the disciples, or with fear like the guards and the Pharisees, forced to resort to lies and subterfuge rather than acknowledge that the one who had been condemned is truly risen (cf. Mt 28:11–15)!

In the light of Easter, let us allow ourselves to be amazed by Christ! Let us allow our hearts to be transformed by his immense love for us! Let those who have weapons lay them down! Let those who have the power to unleash wars choose peace! Not a peace imposed by force, but through dialogue! Not with the desire to dominate others, but to encounter them!

We are growing accustomed to violence, resigning ourselves to it, and becoming indifferent. Indifferent to the deaths of thousands of people. Indifferent to the repercussions of hatred and division that conflicts sow. Indifferent to the economic and social consequences they produce, which we all feel. There is an ever-increasing “globalization of indifference,” to borrow an expression dear to Pope Francis, who one year ago from this loggia addressed his final words to the world, reminding us: “What a great thirst for death, for killing, we witness each day in the many conflicts raging in different parts of the world!” (Urbi et Orbi Message, 20 April 2025).

The cross of Christ always reminds us of the suffering and pain that surround death and the agony it entails. We are all afraid of death, and out of fear we turn away, preferring not to look. We cannot continue to be indifferent! And we cannot resign ourselves to evil! Saint Augustine teaches: “If you fear death, love the resurrection!” (Sermon 124, 4). Let us too love the resurrection, which reminds us that evil is not the last word, because it has been defeated by the Risen One.

He passed through death to give us life and peace: “I leave you peace; I give you my peace. Not as the world gives it, I give it to you” (Jn 14:27). The peace that Jesus gives us is not merely the silence of weapons, but the peace that touches and transforms the heart of each one of us! Let us allow ourselves to be transformed by the peace of Christ! Let us make heard the cry for peace that springs from our hearts! For this reason, I invite everyone to join me in a prayer vigil for peace that we will celebrate here in Saint Peter’s Basilica next Saturday, April 11.

On this day of celebration, let us abandon every desire for conflict, domination, and power, and implore the Lord to grant his peace to a world ravaged by wars and marked by a hatred and indifference that make us feel powerless in the face of evil. To the Lord we entrust all hearts that suffer and await the true peace that only he can give. Let us entrust ourselves to him and open our hearts to him! He is the only one who makes all things new (cf. Rev 21:5).

Standing Together – Student Finalists at Chelsea FC

We are incredibly proud of Bartek, Tahvil, Kamari, Raphael, Paolo and Hiyab (Year 9), who reached the finals of the Standing Together Shared Endeavour Fund campaign.

Supported by the Mayor of London and the Chelsea Foundation, the programme challenges students to tackle issues of discrimination and racism in sport.

Last Friday, our students visited Chelsea Football Club, where they delivered a powerful presentation focusing on how to address these issues, particularly among young people. Their work demonstrated maturity, insight and a strong commitment to promoting inclusion and equality.

A fantastic achievement—well done to all involved for representing All Saints Catholic College so brilliantly.

Betrayal – An Immersive Tenebrae Concert

On Tuesday 24th March 2026, the Schola presented an incredibly memorable and moving evening of music and reflection. Through a powerful combination of music, readings, lighting, and movement, the audience was taken on a deeply immersive journey into the story of Jesus’ final hours and the betrayal by his disciples.

With a special focus on the music of Tomás Luis de Victoria, alongside works by Pablo Casals and Kenneth Leighton, the programme beautifully brought to life the atmosphere and meaning of the ancient service of Tenebrae. To enhance this immersive experience, the choir was split into two groups positioned on either side of the nave, surrounding the audience with rich, resonant sound—creating an effect akin to a live “surround sound” system that brought the music vividly to life.

A particular highlight of the evening was the outstanding contribution of our students, with 27 children performing solos—either singing or reading—with confidence, sensitivity, and maturity.

It was a wonderful concert that showcased not only the richness of this tradition, but also the exceptional talent, dedication, and spirit of our young performers.

U14 Basketball Champions – Three Years in a Row!

Incredible news from St Charles, where our U14 boys’ basketball team delivered an outstanding performance to be crowned champions.

After losing to Holland Park in the opening round, the team showed exceptional determination and resilience, battling their way back to face them again in the final—this time securing a fantastic 8-point victory.

This remarkable achievement means they have now won the cup for the third year in a row, a true testament to their teamwork, perseverance and character.

Year 10 Visit Hammersmith & Fulham College

Our Year 10 students visited Hammersmith & Fulham College for a fantastic taster day, where they had the opportunity to take part in practical activities—including creating traffic lights (see photos below).

The visit gave students valuable insight into post-16 options, helping them explore whether college might be the right pathway for them. They also learned more about T Levels, which are technical qualifications equivalent to three A Levels, studied over two years. T Levels combine classroom learning with a significant industry placement, allowing students to develop practical skills and gain real workplace experience in preparation for future careers.

A great experience to support students in making informed decisions about their next steps!

Farewell to Mr Sunny

We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks and best wishes to Mr Sunny, our Chaplain, as he moves on to take up a new role with the Catholic Bishops’ Conference.

Mr Sunny has made an outstanding contribution to life at All Saints Catholic College. Through his dedication, care and commitment, he has supported both students and staff, playing a central role in nurturing the spiritual life of our school community.

He has also brought creativity and energy to his role, producing brilliant videos for school events, helping to capture and celebrate key moments in our school life. His presence at daily staff briefings, particularly his thoughtful and reflective morning prayers, has been a valued and meaningful part of our school day.

Mr Sunny’s warmth, compassion and sense of purpose have left a lasting impact on our community. He will be greatly missed by students, staff and families alike.

We thank him for everything he has given to All Saints and wish him every success in this exciting next chapter.

Lenten Masses Begin at All Saints

We began our Lenten Masses with Year 7, taking time to reflect during this important liturgical season in preparation for Easter.

Our Masses are held at the beautiful Church of St Pius X, located in St Charles Square, just next door to All Saints. The church has long been a central part of the local Catholic community in North Kensington, serving generations of families and schools. Built in the mid-20th century, it continues to be a place of worship, reflection and community, strengthening the close relationship between the parish and our school.

Next week, Years 8–11 will also take part before we break up for the end of term.

These Masses provide a valuable opportunity for stillness, prayer and reflection, allowing students to pause after a busy term and engage more deeply with the meaning of Lent.

Girls’ Football Success at Westway

Many thanks to Francis Holland School for hosting and inviting All Saints Catholic College to an inspiring talk on Monday 16th March.

We were privileged to hear from Sarah Burton OBE, Creative Director of Givenchy and designer of the Princess of Wales’ wedding dress. Her insights into the fashion industry, creativity, and her career journey were truly inspiring for our students.

Sarah Burton OBE is one of Britain’s most celebrated fashion designers. She studied at Central Saint Martins and joined Alexander McQueen early in her career, working closely with Lee McQueen for many years. Following his death in 2010, she became Creative Director of the brand, where she earned global recognition for her craftsmanship and innovation. Burton is perhaps best known for designing the wedding dress of Catherine, Princess of Wales, in 2011. In 2023, she became Creative Director of Givenchy, continuing her influence on the international fashion stage.

A special thank you to Francis Holland Regents Park for organising such a fantastic opportunity for our students.

U14 Girls Crowned RBKC Basketball Champions

Huge congratulations to our U14 girls’ basketball team, who represented All Saints Catholic College at the RBKC Basketball Tournament at St Charles.

The team delivered an outstanding performance throughout the day, culminating in a fantastic victory over Holland Park in the final. It was a closely contested and highly competitive match, played in great spirit by both teams.

Our students showed excellent teamwork, respect for officials, and selfless play, demonstrating true sportsmanship at every stage of the tournament. Their commitment and unity led to a well-deserved team victory.

Year 10 Visit the EY Foundation

Our Year 10 students recently visited the EY Foundation to take part in a series of engaging employability workshops designed to help young people develop the skills and confidence needed for the world of work.

The EY Foundation is a UK charity established by Ernst & Young (EY) that supports young people by providing career guidance, employability training and opportunities to connect with employers.

During the visit, students explored key topics such as career pathways, workplace skills, teamwork and communication, while gaining valuable insight into future opportunities in education and employment.

The workshops were interactive, informative and inspiring, giving students the chance to reflect on their ambitions and begin thinking about the skills they will need for their future careers.

A huge thank you to the EY Foundation team for hosting our students and providing such a valuable and engaging experience.

Standing Together Campaign: Tackling Discrimination in Sport with Chelsea FC Foundation

Over the past six weeks, our students have been working hard to design campaigns aimed at tackling prejudice and discrimination in sport. Through research, discussion and teamwork, they have developed creative ideas to promote fairness, respect and inclusion in the sporting world.

On Wednesday, one winning team from All Saints will be selected to represent the school at Chelsea Football Club, where they will pitch their campaign alongside winning teams from other participating schools.

As part of the experience, students will also enjoy a tour of the Chelsea FC stadium, and the overall winning team will receive matchday tickets.

We are incredibly proud of the thought, effort and passion our students have put into this project, and we wish the finalists the best of luck for their pitch!

Science Week at All Saints

Science Week kicked off with a visit from ZooLab for our Year 8 students. They each got a turn at handling various animals such as White Tree Frogs, Hissing Cockroaches and even a Corn Snake.

Monday saw our Year 7 and 8 students sign up to dissect a pig trotter to better see the tendons and muscles they had been learning about in their work. Year 9 and 10 students spent time exploring exchange surfaces, removing gills from a salmon before popping out the eye to remove the lens.

Tuesday brought the WonderDome into school for our Year 7 students. Each class had the opportunity to take a tour through our Solar System in the pop-up planetarium in the hall. We also welcomed a STEM Roadshow to help Year 9 students understand material science and explore future career prospects. Students from all year groups were also able to sign up to bake cricket flour cookies after school, made with real roasted and ground crickets!

Wednesday featured our exciting Bangs and Explosions event after school, giving our Science Department the chance to step up to centre stage with demonstrations including whoosh bottles, methane bubbles, flaming money, a screaming jelly baby, a thermite reaction, and we finished the evening with hydrogen rockets.

The week concluded on Thursday with a staff Bushtucker Trial, where staff took turns eating mealworms and crickets with a variety of flavours!

Year 7 & 8 Cycling Club

Our Year 7 and 8 students have been taking part in the Cycling Proficiency Club, developing their cycling skills and confidence on the road. Today’s session was extra special as it coincided with a sightseeing tour of London.

Students cycled an impressive distance, taking in some of the capital’s famous sights along the way. With amazing weather and great energy from the group, it made for a fantastic day out on two wheels.

We are super proud of all the students for their effort, resilience and enthusiasm. Well done to everyone who took part!

Visit Shakespeare’s Globe to Watch Romeo and Juliet

On Tuesday 10th March, our students had the exciting opportunity to watch Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet at the iconic Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre in Central London.

The performance gave students the chance to experience one of Shakespeare’s most famous tragedies in the historic theatre environment that closely reflects how his plays were originally performed. Seeing the play brought to life on stage helped deepen students’ understanding of the characters, themes, and language they have been studying in English.

The trip was a fantastic cultural experience and a valuable way to connect classroom learning with live theatre. Students represented All Saints Catholic College brilliantly.

A huge thank you to the staff who organised and accompanied the trip. It was a memorable afternoon of literature, culture, and theatre in the heart of London.

U16 Basketball Team Reach RBKC Finals

Congratulations to our All Saints U16 Basketball Team, who recently competed in the RBKC Basketball Finals held at St Charles. The team played exceptionally well throughout the competition and progressed all the way to the final, where they faced a strong Chelsea Academy side.

In a closely contested match, the boys narrowly missed out on the title, but their performance, determination and teamwork were outstanding from start to finish. Reaching the final of such a competitive borough tournament is a fantastic achievement.

The team represented All Saints Catholic College with great pride, showing excellent sportsmanship, resilience and commitment on the court. We are incredibly proud of their efforts and the way they represented the school.

Careers Day at All Saints

Shamime, an Alumna of ASCC, now works for RBKC and gave a talk on Democracy for Young PeopleWe were delighted to welcome a fantastic range of speakers and organisations today for our Year 10 Careers Day, giving students valuable insight into the wide variety of pathways available to them.

This year’s event featured sessions on Skills for Employment, democracy and civic engagement for young people, apprenticeships (including interactive activities and games), social entrepreneurship, careers in medical radiography, studying Economics and understanding inflation, as well as opportunities within banking and retail.

We were proud to host representatives from organisations including Coca-Cola, Fit for Life, the Home Office, the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea (RBKC), leading banking professionals, and Nando’s, who generously shared their time and expertise with our students.

Events like this play a vital role in raising aspirations, broadening horizons and helping students make informed decisions about their futures. A huge thank you to all our visitors for inspiring the next generation.

World Book Day

World Book Day at All Saints was a fantastic celebration of reading, creativity and imagination across the school. Students took part in a wide range of activities including competitions, games, a scavenger hunt, bookmark making, a book swap and the chance to win book vouchers. Staff also joined in the fun by dressing up, with students voting for their favourite costumes as part of the staff competition.

Students in Years 8–10 explored the dystopian novel Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. They watched a trailer of the TV adaptation and discussed its themes before using mini whiteboards to sketch their interpretations of the novel’s imagery and ideas. The sessions also linked learning across the arts curriculum, as students brought books to life through creative writing, music, drama and art, sharing their imaginative responses with one another.

Year 7 students enjoyed a similar programme of activities, focusing on Harklights by Tim Tilley, a magical adventure about friendship, courage and protecting nature. They discussed the story, used mini whiteboards to sketch scenes and characters, and created their own magical woodland creatures inspired by the book.

A special highlight was hearing from Lauren in Year 8, who is also a published author. Lauren spoke to Year 7 students about her experience of writing and publishing her own book, inspiring many budding young writers in the audience.

The day also included creative writing workshops and a National Literacy Trust quiz, encouraging students to celebrate reading while developing their imagination and love of storytelling.

Author Visit and World Book Day Celebrations at All Saints

Excitement is building at All Saints as we prepare to celebrate World Book Day this Thursday!

Yesterday, we were delighted to welcome author Tim Tilley into school for a special visit linked to his magical novel Harklights. Students had the opportunity to hear about his inspiration, creative process and journey as a writer, bringing stories to life in a truly engaging way. A real highlight for many was the chance to have Tim sign copies Harklight— a wonderful keepsake to inspire further reading at home.

World Book Day is always a fantastic occasion in school, and this year promises to be no different. One of the most anticipated moments of the day is our staff fancy dress competition, where different departments dress up according to a chosen theme. The creativity, teamwork and good humour on display never fail to impress — and, of course, there is always fierce competition as students vote to decide the winning department!

Events like these celebrate the joy of reading and storytelling, while bringing our school community together in a fun and memorable way. We can’t wait to see this year’s costumes and continue sharing our love of books across the college.

Year 7 Kayaking Adventure at Canalside

Our Year 7 students have been making the most of the brighter weather this half term with an exciting kayaking experience at the Canalside Activity Centre.

Pupils had a fantastic time out on the water, developing their teamwork, confidence and resilience while enjoying a refreshing change of scenery for their PE lessons. It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces as students challenged themselves, learned new skills and supported one another throughout the session.

Outdoor activities like this are a great way to keep active while embracing the benefits of being outside in the spring sunshine. Well done to all of our Year 7 kayakers for their enthusiasm and excellent effort!

We’re looking forward to many more outdoor PE adventures as the term continues.

The Little Shop of Horrors!

What an incredible first two nights of Little Shop of Horrors! Audiences stepped into the strange and spectacular world of our blockbuster musical, complete with a professional West End orchestra bringing the iconic score to life. We followed Seymour, Audrey, and the mysterious Audrey II in a hilarious, toe-tapping tale of ambition, love, and what happened when a plant got… a little too hungry.

With high-energy performances, show-stopping vocals, and stunning production with incredible sets, lighting, tech and props, this truly was school theatre on a whole new scale

It has been a complete sell-out and an incredible thing to witness such hard work and talent from our pupils. We were absolutely blown away by the professionalism of the entire production — a true testament to the dedication and commitment our students have shown throughout.

We now look forward to our final night tonight! A very special thank you goes to our Performing Arts staff for making this magic happen — we are so proud of everyone involved.

Youth Action Alliance Pupils Publish Poetry Book

Current Y10 YAA Pupils pictured above when they were in Y7 showing a great commitment over the last four years.All Saints Catholic College is delighted to share that poetry written by our Youth Action Alliance students in Years 9 and 10 has been published in a new book titled Dip Your Pen Into Your Heart.

Following a poetry workshop they attended with the Youth Action Alliance, led by Patricia Moorhead, students met on Fridays after school throughout last year to develop their work. The project aimed to amplify young people’s voices and ensure that the voices of children and young people remain at the heart of everything we do for those who live, work, or study in RBKC.

The workshops provided a creative outlet for self-expression, encouraging reflection, self-awareness, and empathy. This publication is the culmination of the students’ commitment, creativity, and collaboration. Each pupil whose work was included has received a copy of the book to share with their families.

We are incredibly proud of their achievements and the powerful voices they have developed through this inspiring project.

Installation Mass of Archbishop Richard Moth

On 14th February, All Saints Catholic College was honoured to attend the Inaugural Mass of Archbishop Richard Moth at Westminster Cathedral, with Headteacher Mr Walton and a group of students proudly representing the school community.

An Inaugural Mass marks the formal beginning of a bishop or archbishop’s ministry in a diocese. It is a significant moment in the life of the Catholic Church, during which the Archbishop is officially welcomed and entrusted with the spiritual leadership and pastoral care of the diocese. The Mass brings together clergy, civic leaders, schools and members of the wider community in prayer and celebration.

It was a privilege for our students to witness such an important occasion in the Church’s calendar and to take part in this historic event at Westminster Cathedral. Experiences such as these enrich our pupils’ understanding of faith in action and strengthen our connection to the wider Catholic community.

'Speaking for Tomorrow' competition at Imperial College London

On Saturday 7th February, a group of our Year 10 students took part in the Speaking for Tomorrow competition at Imperial College London, organised by Sustain Pod. With only two weeks to prepare, students were challenged to research, write and deliver two fully referenced ten-minute speeches addressing key issues surrounding climate change. They then faced rigorous questioning from university-level academics.

Our students chose to focus on how cities around the world can respond to climate change through innovative technologies, as well as exploring the impact of climate change on human health. Their research highlighted creative solutions such as carbon-neutral bricks and kinetic flooring, while also examining the financial barriers that can prevent sustainable projects from progressing.

The judges were highly impressed by the students’ depth of research and engaging delivery, awarding an outstanding score of 38 out of 40 for one of the speeches. Competing against Sixth Form students from across the country, our Year 10 team demonstrated remarkable confidence, resilience and academic maturity.

Although we did not reach the final this year, we are incredibly proud of our students’ achievement and determination — and we look forward to returning next year to compete for the trophy.

Tesco Stronger Starts

Fantastic Win for Year 9 & 10 Girls’ Football Team!

We are very proud to share that our Year 9 and 10 girls’ football team recorded a brilliant 3–0 victory against Hammersmith Academy in their recent match!

The team played with confidence, excellent teamwork and determination from start to finish, and their performance reflected all of the hard work they have put in during training. It was a real team effort and a fantastic result for our girls — well done to every player involved! Juliette F was our player of the match with beautiful goal keeping. She defended the goal with 100% commitment!

We continue to be incredibly proud of the commitment and spirit shown by our players both on and off the pitch.

It has been a brilliant half term of sport, with students taking part in a wide range of clubs including Cycling, Football, Netball, Volleyball, Dodgeball, Basketball and Badminton.

Last week, members of our girls’ football team were treated to an unforgettable live football experience as they watched Chelsea Women’s Academy take on Manchester United. The atmosphere was fantastic, and the match showcased the very best of women’s football, with skill, determination and teamwork on display throughout.

It was a brilliant opportunity for our students to see elite players in action and to be inspired by positive role models competing at the highest level. Experiences like this play a vital role in motivating our young athletes, reinforcing the importance of hard work, ambition and belief both on and off the pitch.

Curriculum Enhancement Day activities, both in and out of school, offered a wide range of subject-based and enrichment experiences designed to deepen learning beyond the classroom. Students took part in cultural, creative, and practical activities on site as well as external visits. Highlights included a Maths Escape Room, Bethlehem’s trip to the Harry Potter Studio Tour, the Saatchi Gallery, a Geography trip to the Natural History Museum where pupils took part in a hands-on biodiversity workshop exploring insects and bugs, and RE trip visiting St Paul’s Cathedral to enrich their understanding of Christianity and worship.

Back on site, students took part in Bubble Football, Gel Blaster, Archery, and a re-enactment of the Battle of Hastings, as well as French & Spanish Culture Day, baking native dishes and exploring new traditions.

A fantastic day of curiosity, creativity and discovery for all involved!

Matteo S. Water Polo Achievements

We are proud to celebrate Matteo’s impressive achievements in Water Polo. Matteo has a strong aquatic background, having competed in swimming for several years with Chelsea and Westminster Swimming Club before transitioning to Water Polo at the end of 2023.

His dedication and commitment to training have already led to notable success, with Matteo recently selected to represent West London Penguin Swimming & Water Polo Club at the Nordic League Under 18 Water Polo Competition, held last weekend in Angelholm, Sweden.

Matteo currently trains five times a week and places great value on team spirit and perseverance, qualities that underpin both his training and competition. A bit well done to Matteo for his hard work and determination and wish him every success as he continues to develop in the sport.

Sadler’s Wells East Day of Dance

A group of our pupils recently enjoyed an inspiring visit to Sadler’s Wells East to take part in a vibrant Day of Dance celebration. The free community event welcomed people of all ages and abilities to experience dance in a fun, inclusive and energetic environment. Throughout the day, pupils took part in a range of dance workshops led by professional artists, watched live performances, and joined in DJ-led freestyle dancing, exploring styles from street and commercial dance to jazz and contemporary.

The event was full of creativity, music and movement, and our pupils embraced the opportunity to try new things, build confidence and express themselves through dance. They had a fantastic time and returned buzzing with enthusiasm, inspired by the welcoming atmosphere and the chance to be part of such a positive celebration of dance and community.

Celebrating Achievement: Jack Petchey Award for Stamford B (Y10)

Onatti Productions Bring Spanish Language and Drama to Life

We were delighted to welcome Onatti Productions back to our theatre to perform another hilarious foreign language play for our Year 10 and 11 GCSE Spanish students, with Year 7 also enjoying a lively introduction to Spanish language and drama.

Students were treated to Un Ensayo Desastroso, set in a small-town theatre in Spain where auditions are underway for a new production of Romeo y Julieta. The performance featured a wildly funny rehearsal, with fluffed lines, forgotten props, theatrical meltdowns, and moments of unexpected brilliance.

With plenty of audience participation, the performance not only entertained but also helped students develop their Spanish vocabulary and pronunciation in a fun and memorable way.

We would like to extend a huge thank you to Onatti Productions for another fantastic visit — bringing language and drama to life for our students!

Holocaust Memorial Day

To mark Holocaust Memorial Day on Tuesday 27th January, we reflected on last year, when All Saints Catholic College had the privilege of hosting the Holocaust Educational Trust Live Webcast as part of the national commemorations.

Our Year 9 and 10 students were joined by Natasha Kaplinsky OBE, who interviewed Mala Tribich MBE, a survivor of the Ravensbrück and Bergen-Belsen concentration camps.

Mala powerfully reminded students that “you are now the witnesses,” encouraging them to remember the past and take responsibility for helping to prevent such atrocities from happening again.

We are proud to support Holocaust education and the vital work of remembrance, reflection and learning from history. You can watch the programme here.

Our Assisi Building: A Space Designed for Our Students

We are delighted to share a selection of new photographs on our website from our architects, 3BM Studio, following the completion of our new Assisi Building.

This wonderful new space has been thoughtfully designed to support our students’ learning, wellbeing and development, and we are very proud to see it now in use by our school community. The Assisi Building provides high-quality facilities that will enhance teaching and learning and create calm, purposeful spaces for students to thrive.

Parents and carers are invited to read the new overview on our website, which explains what the Assisi Building has to offer and how it will benefit our students both now and in the future.

ASCC Spelling Bee Launch

We are pleased to announce the launch of the first ASCC Spelling Bee. This exciting whole-school initiative will provide pupils with the opportunity to develop their spelling skills, confidence, and love of language.

Form Heats will take place during form time on Fridays.

Year Group Heats will be held in the LRC during lunchtimes, followed by the Semi-Finals in the Gym. The Grand Final will see finalists competing against a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

In preparation, Ms J Stanley and Miss J Juskaityte will be running spelling practice sessions on Thursday 29 January.

Cycling Club Update

The Cycling Club has made excellent progress this term, with pupils developing both their confidence and cycling skills. The group has successfully taken part in off-site cycling sessions, allowing pupils to explore the local area around the school in a safe and supervised environment.

Several pupils joined the club as complete beginners; through resilience, commitment, and the expert guidance of Mr Dowdall, they have demonstrated significant improvement and a willingness to challenge themselves.

Year 9 Shakespeare Workshop with Shakespeare’s Globe

In advance of our Year 9 trip to Shakespeare’s Globe in March, we were delighted to welcome the Globe into school today to deliver an engaging and inspiring workshop for our pupils.

The practical and interactive session brought Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet to life for students aged 12–14, encouraging them to explore the play through a range of activities and drama-based games. Pupils examined key elements of the text, including language, characters and themes, in an accessible and enjoyable way.

Drawing on the Globe’s unique performance spaces and theatrical traditions, the workshop provided a valuable foundation for students’ GCSE English Literature studies, helping them to understand how the play was originally performed and experienced by audiences.

The workshop was led by one of the Globe’s highly experienced educational practitioners, including professional actors, teachers and directors, who expertly guided students through the session and brought the text to life.

The workshop was a fantastic introduction ahead of our upcoming visit to the Globe, and we look forward to seeing our students build on today’s learning when they experience the play in its iconic setting.

Year 11 Visit to the Home Office

On Thursday this week, we had an inspiring visit to the Home Office with our Year 11 students, giving them a valuable insight into careers within the Civil Service.

This was a fantastic opportunity for our students, as they took part in interactive sessions, gained insight into the work of the Civil Service, and explored a wide range of career opportunities available to them.

As part of the visit, students learned about the Government Economic Service (GES) and its school outreach programme, which is committed to promoting equality of opportunity and encouraging a more diverse Civil Service workforce, particularly within analytical professions.

The GES offers tailored outreach sessions for students in Year 9 and above, with no prior subject knowledge required, making these opportunities accessible to all learners.

During the session, students took part in activities designed to:

increase knowledge and awareness of the Civil Service and its analysts

explore the reality of a career within the Civil Service

gain insight into the essential skills needed to become an analyst

encourage students to consider whether, “this could be for me”

The visit was an excellent opportunity for students to broaden their aspirations, ask thoughtful questions and reflect on future pathways.

Year 11 Pupils Attend Inspiring Hale Lecture with CEO of Coutts

On Tuesday evening, we had the pleasure of taking a group of Year 11 pupils to Francis Holland Regent’s Park for the first Hale Lecture of 2026. The event brought together 100 pupils, including guests from St Marylebone School and Wetherby Senior School, for an inspiring and engaging conversation with Emma Crystal, CEO of Coutts Bank.

Emma shared her career journey, from studying Economics & Business to becoming Chief Sustainability Officer at Credit Suisse, before stepping into her current role as CEO of Coutts. She challenged the idea of a ‘linear’ career path, encouraging pupils to embrace change, take risks, and remain open to unexpected opportunities.

A fantastic pupil-led panel explored a range of topical issues, including the use of AI in banking, ethical responsibility, sustainability in modern financial strategy, and how women navigate leadership in a traditionally male-dominated industry.

The Hale Lecture series is a distinctive and enriching part of life at Francis Holland Regent’s Park, offering pupils the chance to ask thoughtful questions, gain invaluable advice, and begin mapping out their own future career paths—guided by trailblazing female leaders.

Standing Together: Launch of Chelsea Foundation Workshops for ASCC

Last Friday, we kicked off the Standing Together programme as part of our Immersion Event at Stamford Bridge. Later this week, we are delighted to welcome the Chelsea Foundation into school to launch their impactful workshops.

As part of the Foundation’s commitment to promoting equality, diversity, and inclusion, the Schools Education Department developed Standing Together — a programme designed to empower young people to celebrate diversity and embed positive values and attitudes.

Delivered to Year 8 and 9 pupils, the workshops encourage students to think critically, make informed choices, and safely challenge discrimination, while working alongside expert organisations such as the Metropolitan Police, Kick It Out, ShoutOut UK, Stand Up Education, and Be Lads. Topics explored include anti-discrimination, anti-racism, misogyny, and media literacy.

The programme, which recently received an Outstanding Development Award from the Mayor’s Office for Policing and Crime (MOPAC), has now entered its fourth season.

Funded by MOPAC through the Mayor of London, Chelsea Foundation has delivered the programme since 2022, engaging with more than 1,200 students from local secondary schools. Delivered in schools and local communities, the project achieved Outstanding Development recognition last year, demonstrating a 74% increase in participants’ ability to challenge prejudiced and hateful views.

We are delighted to to welcome the Chelsea Foundation into school this week to follow on from the session at Stamford Bridge with their impactful Standing Together workshops.

We are proud to be part of this important work and look forward to continuing to support our students to stand together for a more inclusive future.

The Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge Regional Final

On Thursday evening we were thrilled to host the Jack Petchey Regional Final, welcoming an inspiring celebration of youth voice, confidence and achievement. The event showcased talented finalists delivering powerful speeches as part of the Speak Out Challenge, where they were assessed alongside peers from across the region and competed for places in the grand finals.

Each year, hundreds of secondary schools across London take part in Jack Petchey programmes, with thousands of young people beginning their journey at school level before progressing to regional finals. This year’s Regional Final brought together students from All Saints, Cardinal Vaughan Memorial School, Harris Academy St John’s Wood, Chelsea Academy, Holland Park School, Grey Coat School, Saint Marylebone Church of England School, and Westminster Academy.

The evening was also a wonderful opportunity for the wider community and borough to come together to celebrate and amplify young voices. We were delighted to welcome Councillor Tom Bennett, Mayor of the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, alongside teachers, parents, friends and supporters, all of whom made an incredible contribution to the positive and encouraging atmosphere for every speaker. Well done to Milad A G, Annabelle K and Victorio P for their brilliant speeches.

The event also provided a chance to recognise not only the speakers, but the dedication and hard work of staff, organisers and supporters who made the Regional Final possible.

The End of the Jubilee Year

More than 33 million pilgrims visited Rome during the 2025 Jubilee Year, which officially ended on January 6, 2026, with the closing of the Holy Door of St. Peter’s Basilica by Pope Leo.

The solemn ceremony, held on the Feast of the Epiphany, marked the conclusion of a year dedicated to faith, hope and spiritual renewal for Catholics worldwide.

The Holy Door, opened at the start of the Jubilee as a symbol of forgiveness and grace, was ceremonially shut following Mass, bringing to a close one of the largest religious events in recent Church history.

Pope Leo urged the faithful to carry the spirit of compassion, unity and mercy experienced during the Jubilee into their daily lives as pilgrims returned home from Rome.

Rome's Holy Doors (in the four major basilicas and other designated sites) open only during a Holy Year (Jubilee), which occurs roughly every 25 years, with the most recent being 2025. These special doors, bricked up the rest of the time, symbolise passage to the sacred and are opened by the Pope to mark the Jubilee for spiritual renewal and forgiveness.

Nine Lessons and Carols by Candlelight

Last night at All Saints Church in Notting Hill, we celebrated our Nine Lessons and Carols by Candlelight — a truly beautiful and memorable evening.

The thoughtful and reflective bidding prayer set the tone, and our Schola's performance was truly impressive. Nine readings were delivered by pupils, staff and friends of ASCC, whilst the music featured beloved carols alongside some lesser-known gems, including Adam Lay Ybounden, Puer Natus in Bethlehem, the ancient Slavic carol Borogoroditse Djevo and Lux Aurumque. The service concluded with Hark the Herald, a stunning collaboration of Charles Wesley’s words with Felix Mendelssohn’s music.

It was an uplifting evening of reflection, music, and community — a wonderful way to close a busy term full of learning, celebration, and success. Many thanks to the music department for delivering once again a musical feast for the ears and to all those who came and supported!

Reflections for Advent: Lectio Divina

Advent Giving in Action at All Saints Catholic College

This Advent, our students have shown incredible thoughtfulness and generosity through the school’s Advent Charity Appeal. Planning ahead to ensure their efforts were organised and meaningful, every year group took responsibility for supporting a different cause, reflecting the values of service, compassion, and community that are at the heart of All Saints Day.

Years 7 & 8 supported the Samaritan’s Purse Shoebox Appeal, collecting items to bring joy to children in need around the world.

Year 9 raised funds for Mary’s Meals, helping to provide nutritious meals for children in some of the world’s poorest communities, ensuring they can learn and grow.

Year 10 collected supplies for the Missionaries of Charity food bank, supporting local families and individuals in need and reflecting St Mother Teresa’s commitment to serving the vulnerable.

Year 11 generously donated raffle prizes for the annual elderly Christmas dinner, helping to create a joyful and memorable event for our local senior citizens.

Thanks to the hard work, dedication, and organisation of our students, Mr Sunny and Mr Willis this year’s Advent giving was carried out smoothly and effectively. Pupils not only contributed resources, but also gave their time and effort to ensure the activities ran successfully, demonstrating true leadership and care for others.

Through these acts of service, our students embodied the very essence of the season — generosity, kindness, and community spirit. Their contributions made a real difference to both local and global communities and exemplify the values we seek to nurture at All Saints Catholic College.

Schola Perform at the Department for Education Annual Awards

We are incredibly proud to share that our Schola were invited to perform at Lancaster House as part of the Department for Education Annual Awards — a prestigious national event celebrating excellence in education.

The students delivered a beautiful performance in a truly remarkable setting, representing All Saints Catholic College with professionalism, confidence, and grace. The event was attended by senior figures from across education, with a special guest appearance by Ed Balls, making the occasion even more memorable.

This invitation reflects the exceptional standard of our music provision and the dedication of our students and staff. Performing at such a high-profile event is a significant achievement, and Schola should be extremely proud of how they represented our school community.

Pupil Shines at the Royal Opera House

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Shio, who secured his role through a competitive audition and is currently performing at the Royal Opera House in Handel’s opera Ariodante.

Shio plays Polinesso’s childhood, delivering a confident and expressive performance in this internationally renowned production. He has already appeared on stage and will perform two further shows on 17 and 21 December, representing All Saints Catholic College with professionalism and poise.

Ariodante is a Baroque opera by George Frideric Handel that tells a powerful story of love, jealousy, deception, and honour. Set in medieval Scotland, the opera follows Prince Ariodante as he faces betrayal and false accusations that test loyalty and truth, before justice is finally restored.

This remarkable achievement highlights Shio’s dedication, courage, and musical talent, and we are delighted to see him performing on one of the world’s most prestigious stages.

Congratulations to Shio on this outstanding accomplishment!

Winter Concert 2025

On Tuesday 9th December, 85 students lit up the stage in our Winter Concert, filling the school hall with outstanding music and festive cheer. Showcasing months of hard work, both ensembles and soloists delivered performances that truly warmed our winter hearts.

Expertly compered by Zara (Y9) and Tristan (Y10), the evening opened with Ladbroke Groove arriving “at the station” with a lively performance of Chattanooga Choo Choo. Music teachers reflected afterwards on how striking it is to see just how independent and accomplished our musicians have become — the standard is now so high that staff could simply sit back and enjoy!

A series of superb solo performances followed, including Emma (cello), Milad (trumpet), Kim (flute), Marcel (classical guitar), Daniel (piano), and vocalists Loza and Victor. With over 20 different instruments taught each week, the breadth of opportunity at All Saints continues to shape confident, expressive young performers. Their willingness to step onto a packed stage and deliver with poise reflects the strong foundations built across our Music, Oracy and Drama curriculum.

The ensembles delivered equally impressive moments, finishing with a massed performance of Last Christmas — joyfully ending Whamageddon for everyone present! Among the most inspiring highlights was the presence of so many Year 7 students already taking leading roles in our flagship groups. From Josh in the tenor line of Schola, to Juliette on cymbals and timpani in the Symphony Orchestra, to Paylan performing the opening clarinet solo in Romeo and Juliet — the future of music at All Saints is bright.

Saatchi Learning + All Saints – End-of-Project Exhibition!

We’re thrilled to share that our Year 10 and Year 11 GCSE Art students have now completed a fantastic creative course delivered by the Saatchi Gallery Learning team — a project generously funded through the John Lyon’s Charity Cultural Capital Fund.

Over the past term, pupils have taken part in a special series of workshops exploring the theme of identity, experimenting with new materials, techniques and ideas under the guidance of professional artists and educators. The sessions have been inspiring, challenging and hugely enjoyable — our students have absolutely loved the experience.

This exciting collaboration has widened our pupils’ artistic horizons, strengthened their understanding of contemporary art and given them the opportunity to engage directly with practising creatives.

We are delighted to invite parents and carers to a special exhibition of the students’ work next Tuesday here at school. This final showcase will celebrate their creativity, self-expression and the powerful stories they have told through their art.

Ginkgo Helps Revitalise SEN Garden

We are delighted to extend a big thank you to Ginkgo (our school gardening contractor), and in particular Mariusz, for their recent support as part of their social value commitment. Their team has revitalised the raised beds in our SEN garden and repaired the collapsed paving, greatly improving the safety, accessibility, and overall quality of this important outdoor space.

These enhancements have already made a significant difference to our Green Gardening Club, which uses the garden regularly. The club gives students the chance to connect with nature, develop practical gardening skills, and explore the wildlife around them, fostering environmental awareness, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility for the world just outside our classroom windows.

Thanks to Ginkgo’s work in revitalising the SEN garden, students now have an even more welcoming and inspiring space to learn, explore, and nurture their curiosity. We are incredibly grateful for their dedication and expertise, and for the positive impact their partnership continues to have on our school community.

Sports Round-Up!

Last week was an exciting week of sporting success for our students.

Our U14 basketball team secured a fantastic victory against St Paul’s, showcasing skill, teamwork, and determination throughout the match. A special congratulations goes to Carmelo (Year 8), who delivered an exceptional performance and was deservedly named Game MVP.

Meanwhile, our All Saints Year 7 athletes proudly represented the school at the Sports Hall Athletics event at St Charles. They demonstrated great effort and sportsmanship across all events, with the girls’ team finishing 3rd overall and the boys’ team placing 2nd overall. These are excellent results, and every student involved should feel extremely proud.

Schola Shines in Performance with Opera Holland Park

This weekend, Schola performed at St Mary Abbots, Kensington High Street, to a sold-out audience of approximately 600 people, appearing alongside the professional chorus of Opera Holland Park, a renowned London-based opera company celebrated for its high-calibre productions and exceptional choral work. The ensemble delivered an outstanding performance with remarkable confidence and professionalism.

A particular commendation goes to Varvara F (Year 7), who opened Once in Royal with a beautifully sung first verse.

Year 11 Food Tech & Drama Students Inspired by After Sunday at the Bush Theatre

Yesterday, our Year 11 Food Technology and Drama students attended a performance of After Sunday at the Bush Theatre — and enjoyed it immensely.

The play, written by Sophia Griffin, is set in a medium-security hospital where occupational therapist Naomi runs a Caribbean cooking group for three men in her care. Through live cooking on stage, the sessions gradually uncover the men’s identities, memories and past traumas. Food becomes a powerful tool for connection, storytelling and healing.

Students were particularly struck by the sensory experience of real cooking happening during the performance, as well as the emotional depth created through the characters’ shared histories. Both departments found it an inspiring example of how food, theatre and storytelling can work together to explore complex themes.

Year 7 Retreat Days

Last week and this week, our Year 7 students enjoyed very successful retreat days led by our Chaplain, Mr Sunny. The sessions focused on the theme of community, exploring the qualities and virtues that help each person contribute to a thriving, compassionate environment.

Rooted in Gospel values and inspired by the life of Saint Carlo Acutis, the retreat encouraged students to reflect on how they can live with kindness, empathy, and integrity in their daily lives.

Last night, we were delighted to host our annual Community Christmas Dinner for local senior citizens — and it was truly a magical evening from start to finish.

Our wonderful pupils volunteered throughout the event, warmly welcoming guests, serving food, supporting the raffle and ensuring everyone felt cared for. Guests enjoyed a delicious festive meal, wine, lively raffles with prizes for all, and joyful musical performances.

A highlight of the night was the beautiful carol singing by Sienna O’Dwyer, Perry-Ann De Souza, Chelsea-Ann Kobla and Miley Hanna, whose voices filled the hall with Christmas spirit.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to this special evening — staff, students, volunteers and our cherished guests. It was a perfect example of our All Saints community coming together in service, celebration and joy.

Match Report – Y7 Football: All Saints vs KAA

All Saints put in a dominant and disciplined display to record a commanding 7–0 victory over KAA. The team worked hard for each other, showing great balance between defensive organisation and attacking intent.

Archie C, playing from defensive midfield, was outstanding — breaking up play, driving the team forward, and remarkably scoring a hat-trick through intelligent positioning and timing of runs. Goodluck C was immense in defence, keeping things tight at the back, getting forward to score, and earning Man of the Match for a complete performance.

Shay N stayed sharp and focused throughout, organising his defence well and helping secure a deserved clean sheet, and Paulius Z also was confident in goals in the second half. Albert O’Sand Archie Boswell led with composure and control, while Davi D was relentless in attack and caused constant problems for KAA. Eduardo T and Kian L were dependable and composed in defence, Reagan H worked tirelessly in multiple roles, and substitutes Oscar S, James S, and Pedro G all contributed effectively off the bench.

A dominant team performance and a clear sign of this Y7 side’s growing confidence and chemistry.

Advent Reflections

We are excited to share that throughout Advent, our Catholic Life Ambassadors from each year group will be offering weekly reflections for every Sunday in Advent. These thoughtful reflections are a wonderful way for our school community to pause, pray and prepare during this special season.

In our First Sunday of Advent post, James A (Year 7), read a hymn from the Stanbrook Abbey Hymnal, created by the Benedictine nuns of Stanbrook Abbey. Known for their deep prayer life, beautiful liturgical music, and dedication to the Church’s spiritual tradition, the nuns have composed and preserved hymns that express devotion, unity and the movement of the Holy Spirit.

This Advent, we begin with their hymn Come, Holy Spirit, Live in Us, a prayer inviting the Spirit to dwell within us, strengthen us in love, and ignite faith in our community as we prepare for the coming of Christ.

Year 10 Students Shine in the Jack Petchey "Speak Out" Challenge – Second-Round Assembly Final!

We are delighted to share that our Year 10 students recently took part in the second round of the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge.

After completing the initial workshop with expert trainers from Speakers Trust, where they built confidence, developed their public-speaking skills and crafted powerful personal speeches, our students returned to the stage for the Assembly Final. Here, they delivered their speeches in front of their year group, each hoping to secure a place in the Regional Final.

The passion, bravery and authenticity shown by every participant were outstanding. A huge congratulations to Victorio, Ralphy, Annabelle and Milad, who impressed their peers and staff with compelling speeches and have moved one step closer to the next stage.

We are incredibly proud of how our students stepped up, spoke out, and supported one another throughout the process.

We are also thrilled to share that All Saints Catholic College will proudly serve as the host school for the RBKC Regional Final on 15 January 2026, and we look forward to welcoming students from across the borough for this exciting next stage of the challenge.

Chess Club Fun This Term!

Our Year 10 Sports Studies GCSE students recently travelled to Swinley Bike Hub to complete the practical element of their BMX Trail Riding coursework. Swinley’s purpose-built forest trails provided the perfect setting for students to demonstrate technique, confidence and resilience on the bike.

The group tackled a range of features across the blue and red trails, including berms, rollers and the final “big drop,” which tested both skill and nerve. Every student showed great determination and teamwork throughout the day.

Year 10 French Students Enjoy Onatti Theatre Performance

Today, Year 10 French GCSE students enjoyed an exciting theatre experience with RSVP, a French-language play performed by the renowned Onatti Productions. Known for creating engaging and accessible foreign-language theatre, Onatti specialises in performances that entertain while supporting language learning, helping students build confidence, listening skills and cultural understanding.

RSVP, touring from November 2025 to July 2026, follows Léa and Théo, a carefree duo who decide — with less than a day’s notice — to throw the ultimate French party. With no venue, no food, no theme, no invitations and no plan, chaos quickly ensues. Audience members were drawn into the action, taking on roles in the story as Léa chased her dream of a Parisian-style celebration while Théo hoped for something low-key.

Students were captivated by the fast-paced humour, dramatic twists, lively French culture, and interactive audience participation. The performance brought the language to life in a fun and memorable way, complementing what they have been learning in the classroom.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our Year 10s to experience French in action, and one that will support their studies while giving them an unforgettable cultural experience.

Year 7 and 8 RBKC Qualifying Handball Tournament to St Charles Sixth Form

On Wednesday 19th November, our Year 7 and 8 students took part in the RBKC Qualifying Handball Tournament at St Charles Sixth Form. The group showed outstanding effort and resilience throughout the day, making the most of every opportunity.

Handball is a fast-paced team sport that combines elements of basketball, football, and netball. Played on an indoor court, teams work together to pass, dribble, and shoot a small ball into the opponent’s goal. The game is known for developing coordination, agility, teamwork, and quick decision-making—skills our students were eager to build on.

During the trip, students learned new techniques and strategies from England Handball professionals, gaining valuable insights into the sport. They then put their learning into action in matches against challenging opponents, rising to each test with determination.

Our students represented the school with great enthusiasm and sportsmanship, demonstrating teamwork, perseverance, and a positive attitude throughout. It was a productive and rewarding experience for all involved, and we are incredibly proud of their achievements.

Today we had a rather chilly Get Up & Play – our engagement initiative designed to strengthen connections between staff and students through a bit of friendly, light-hearted competition - the form of a Paper Aeroplane Challenge: Science Department vs Students!

Our fantastic Science team put their aerodynamics knowledge to the test… but could our Pupils beat them on distance, style and creativity? There was only one way to find out!

The initiative was all about having fun – absolutely no skills required! Whether staff were paper-folding pros or simply there for the vibes, their involvement made the experience even more memorable for our students.

It was a great reminder that teamwork, curiosity and community spirit are what All Saints is all about. Let’s Get Up & Play!

GCSE History Students: Visit to Six the Musical

Our Year 10 and 11 GCSE History students recently had the exciting opportunity to attend Six the Musical, a dynamic pop-concert-style retelling of the lives of the six wives of Henry VIII. The visit brought their Tudor studies to life in a memorable and engaging way.

The musical reimagines the Queens — Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Anne of Cleves, Katherine Howard and Catherine Parr — as modern pop performers, each stepping into the spotlight to share her story. Through powerful vocals, sharp humour and bold choreography, the show blends historical fact with contemporary music, helping students see familiar figures from a fresh perspective.

Each Queen delivers a solo performance reflecting her experiences: Aragon’s defiance in No Way; Boleyn’s cheeky confidence in Don’t Lose Ur Head; Seymour’s heartfelt emotion in Heart of Stone; Cleves’ celebration of independence in Get Down; Howard’s journey from playful charm to tragedy in All You Wanna Do; and Parr’s thought-provoking reflection in I Don’t Need Your Love. Together, the songs explore themes of identity, empowerment and reclaiming one’s narrative.

By the finale, Six, the Queens stand united, celebrating their strength beyond the shadow of Henry VIII — a message that resonated strongly with our students.

The trip was not only an enjoyable cultural experience but also a valuable extension of classroom learning, giving students a deeper appreciation of Tudor history and the power of storytelling. Our students represented the school proudly throughout, and we look forward to offering more enriching opportunities like this in the future.

Our school’s Green Gardening Club gives students the chance to connect with nature, learn practical gardening skills, and explore the wildlife around them. It’s a hands-on way to build environmental awareness, teamwork, and a sense of responsibility for the world just outside our classroom windows.

Recently, our Year 7 and 8 students have been planting bulbs for spring, creating nature-inspired art using ivy, and even tasting our own home-grown edible flowers — all while learning more about London’s urban biodiversity.

This week, we’ve taken things a step further by setting up mammal cameras and food traps to discover which creatures share our school grounds with us. Fingers crossed it’s not rats!

Green Club continues to spark curiosity, creativity, and a real appreciation for the nature on our doorstep.

All Saints Jazz Café – An Evening of Swing, Soul, and Sparkle

Yesterday evening, All Saints Catholic College hosted its annual Jazz Café — an eagerly anticipated highlight of the November calendar.

For one special night, the school canteen was transformed into an intimate jazz club, complete with soft lighting, café-style seating, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere.

Our talented student performers took centre stage, bringing the energy and creativity of jazz to life through a mix of classic standards and contemporary favourites. Families, staff, and friends enjoyed refreshments and outstanding live performances in true cabaret style, celebrating the spirit of talent, collaboration, and community.

The Jazz Café was more than just a performance; it was a celebration of community and creativity. The relaxed setting encouraged students to experiment, take risks, and share their passion for music. A supportive audience of peers, families, and staff added to the sense of camaraderie throughout the evening.

Performances featured a variety of ensembles and solo acts, each offering their unique take on jazz. The All Saints Jazz Ensemble set the tone with polished, energetic performances inspired by the greats, while Ladbroke Groove, a student-led band, brought a contemporary twist that captivated both jazz lovers and newcomers alike. Soloists added their personal flair through both classic and original pieces, showcasing confidence, creativity, and heartfelt expression.

The evening once again highlighted the exceptional talent of our students, the dedication of our music department, and the strong sense of community that defines All Saints Catholic College.

Exciting Interhouse Basketball Competition at All Saints!

This week, our school came alive with energy and team spirit during our interhouse basketball competition! Taking place over lunch breaks, each year group competed fiercely on behalf of their school houses, showcasing skill, determination, and sportsmanship.

The atmosphere was fantastic, with students cheering from the sidelines and staff supporting every match—helping to make each game a memorable experience. Students will play 5 different sports across the year, competing against all of the other houses for the chance to be crowned house sport winners!

Events like this not only celebrate athletic talent but also foster camaraderie across houses and year groups, encouraging teamwork, friendly competition, and school community spirit.

All Saints Catholic College Marks Remembrance Day

Today, our school community came together to honour Remembrance Day — a moment to pause, reflect, and remember those who sacrificed their lives for our freedom, as well as those living through conflict today.

Students and staff gathered in silence to listen to thoughtful readings and prayers delivered by our Head Boy and Head Girl. The gathering was beautifully accompanied by the Last Post, played by Dr Slimings, creating a truly moving and respectful tribute.

We will remember them.

On Tuesday 9th December 2025, we hosted our Winter Concert in the school hall, where our choirs, bands, orchestras, and soloists came together for a sparkling evening filled with festive favourites, joyful carols, and seasonal surprises—an uplifting celebration of the incredible talent within our music department.

The celebrations continue on Wednesday 17th December 2025 at All Saints Notting Hill with Nine Lessons and Carols by Candlelight, performed by our Schola Cantorum. This traditional service pairs timeless readings with beautiful choral music, all set within a warm candlelit atmosphere.

Mulled wine and mince pies will be served afterwards, offering a wonderful opportunity to share festive cheer with our wider school community.

Project Spark

All Saints Catholic College is delighted to announce that we have secured funding to support our Extended School Provision (ESP) programme from Project Spark, a charity founded by Sally Trench and dedicated to helping young people across England and Wales.

The ESP was created in response to challenges faced by students following the pandemic, including reduced attendance, difficulties with homework completion, limited access to extracurricular activities, and a decline in students’ sense of belonging.

Through this programme, students receive a supervised space after school with healthy meals, structured homework support without the distraction of mobile phones, and access to enriching extracurricular activities that help build confidence, routine, and community. The values of Project Spark strongly align with the purpose of the ESP, reflecting Sally Trench’s legacy of supporting young people and providing them with opportunities.

This funding will enable us to continue running the programme and ensure that our students receive the encouragement, stability, and care needed to thrive beyond the school day.

Schola Cantorum Performs Mozart’s Requiem at St Augustine’s, Kilburn

On 6th November, our Schola Cantorum gave a beautiful and moving performance of Mozart’s Requiem at St Augustine’s Church, Kilburn, under the direction of Mr Bick, Director of Schola. The evening showcased the exceptional talent of our singers in an historic setting, creating the perfect atmosphere for the transcendent score of Mozart's final composition.

Mozart’s Requiem—a Mass for the dead—was left unfinished at the composer’s death in 1791 and later completed by his student Franz Xaver Süssmayr. Combining Mozart’s classical grace with a profound emotional depth befitting the sacred text, the Requiem remains one of the most beloved choral masterpieces in Western music. Its Lacrimosa, in particular, stood out for its heart-wrenching beauty and expressive power.

The work’s mystique has endured for centuries, inspiring countless books, films, and legends, much of it fuelled by the mystery surrounding Mozart’s final days and the incomplete nature of the score.

The performance at St Augustine’s was a memorable evening of music, bringing this timeless masterpiece vividly to life in the church’s magnificent Gothic setting.

St Augustine’s Church, Kilburn—“The Cathedral of North London”—is an Anglo-Catholic parish of the Church of England, founded in 1870 and consecrated in 1880. The Grade I listed building is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Victorian Gothic Revival architecture, and continues to serve a vibrant, diverse community through worship, music, and outreach.

As a special encore, the Schola performed a newly commissioned motet by Sir James MacMillan, written specifically for the ASCC Schola to mark the Grenfell Tower anniversary in June. First sung on 17th June at Westminster Cathedral, the choir offered this moving piece again to their Kilburn audience.

Inspired by the In Paradisum text from the Requiem Mass, MacMillan’s motet is a deeply reflective work, seamlessly blending Gregorian chant traditions with a tender reference to O When the Saints—a heartfelt nod to the choir’s name and spiritual heritage.

It was a night that united history, faith, and musical dedication and talent, reminding all present of the enduring power of sacred music to move the soul.

A Christmas Carol comes to ASCC

Yesterday, our Y8 students enjoyed a live performance of A Christmas Carol by Quantum Theatre.

Quantum Theatre is a national touring company that specialises in bringing classic literature and Shakespeare to life. For more than 30 years, they have toured all over the UK, performing in theatres, arts centres, National Trust and English Heritage sites, schools, community halls, castles, parks and gardens — ensuring that all communities have access to live theatre, including those who may not ordinarily experience a performance.

Their productions are written and directed by Artistic Director Michael Whitmore, who creates fast-paced adaptations that remain faithful to the original text while keeping audiences fully engaged.

Yesterday’s production brought Charles Dickens’ classic story to life. Students watched as the miserable Ebenezer Scrooge — who famously calls Christmas “humbug!” — was visited on Christmas Eve by four spirits: Jacob Marley and the Ghosts of Christmas Past, Present and Yet To Come. The performance captured Scrooge’s dramatic transformation, reinforcing key quotations from the novel and making the story vivid and memorable.

A fantastic experience for our students, bringing literature off the page and onto the stage.

Pope Leo XIV Encourages Young People to Nurture Their Inner Life

On October 30th, in the Paul VI Audience Hall at the Vatican, Pope Leo XIV addressed young Catholics as part of the Jubilee of the World of Education. He urged young people to cultivate their “interior life” and resist filling their restlessness with distractions or fleeting pleasures, warning that this can lead to “existential emptiness.” Pope Leo XIV reminded them that knowledge alone is not enough without understanding “who we are and the meaning of life.”

The pope acknowledged that many young people experience inner emptiness and stressed that this is not just a personal issue. In a relaxed and approachable moment, he introduced himself as a former maths and physics teacher and joked with students about exams.

Encouraging them to seek deeper purpose, he said: “I dream of more, Lord, I long for something greater — inspire me!” He invited them to look beyond appearances or smartphones and to “look to the sky, to the heights.”

Pope Leo highlighted St. Pier Giorgio Frassati and St. Carlo Acutis as role models for living with courage and using technology for good. He warned against letting digital tools or artificial intelligence become an escape or a “cage,” urging students instead to “write your own story.”

A takeaway quote from Pope Leo's address which is very helpful for parents and young people today: “Instead of looking at your phone, ‘look to the sky, to the heights - You live in [digital education] and that’s not a bad thing; there are enormous opportunities for study and communication. But don’t let the algorithm write your story! Be the authors: Use technology wisely, but don’t let technology use you!”

England Boxing: Ruby-Jo is European Champion

We are incredibly proud to share that Ruby-Jo (Y10) became European Champion at the U15 European Championships in Budva, Montenegro, which took place from 16–26 October 2025, bringing home a Gold medal after a series of outstanding performances.

On the evening before the Championships began, all participating countries took part in a formal parade, and Ruby-Jo was honoured to be chosen by the England coaching team to be the flag bearer for England — a remarkable recognition of her dedication and character.

Ruby-Jo had an unforgettable experience representing her country on the European stage, and we couldn’t be prouder of her achievements.

Celebrating All Saints Day – Thursday 23rd October

Today, we came together to celebrate All Saints Day, our school feast day. The day was centred on our school motto and mission, inspired by John 10:10 – “I have come that they may have life and have it to the full.” It was a time for students to reflect on how we live out our values through prayer, work, and service, while enjoying a fun and energetic celebration of our school community.

The day was spent in form groups, with a range of engaging activities for all year groups. Students began with Orare, a tutor-led session exploring the role of prayer within the school community, followed by Laborare, a hands-on activity linked to our astro project. They also took part in Servire, a session highlighting the importance of service and providing time for each year group to focus on their charity projects ahead of Christmas.

Students then enjoyed a special production in the hall presented by Rise Theatre, with Year 8 participating in a tailored Elev8 activity. The day concluded with a virtual rewards celebration streamed on YouTube Live, where tutor groups watched the live ceremony from their form rooms.

As part of our commitment to making Geography an engaging and hands-on subject, Y7 recently took part in a fantastic fieldwork experience at the Hyde Park Learning Centre on Tuesday 21st October.

The trip was designed to help students develop their cartographic and geographical skills in a real-world setting. Through the Hyde Park Challenge, students explored one of London’s most iconic green spaces while practising key fieldwork techniques. They worked collaboratively to navigate the park using a range of maps, coordinates, and compasses, applying their knowledge of distance, height, and gradient to complete a series of tasks.

Students also had the opportunity to enhance their understanding of GIS (Geographic Information Systems)—a vital tool in modern geography—by using digital mapping to analyse and interpret spatial data.

The day was an exciting blend of learning and exploration, giving students the chance to see how geography connects classroom knowledge with the world around them. It was wonderful to see their curiosity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in action throughout the day.

Celebrating World Opera Day with Opera Holland Park!

In honour of World Opera Day on 25th October, our Schola and GCSE Music students had the incredible opportunity to take part in a masterclass with Opera Holland Park. The session offered a unique insight into the world of opera — exploring vocal technique, stagecraft, and the storytelling power of music.

Our students were inspired by the incredible April Koyejo-Audiger who shared her experience and passion, helping pupils deepen their understanding of performance and the discipline of classical music. It was a truly enriching experience that celebrated creativity, collaboration, and the joy of live performance.

Last Friday, 17th October, All Saints proudly hosted our annual Culture Day, a vibrant celebration of the rich cultural backgrounds within our school community. This week, our Year 7 and Year 8 students enjoyed a fantastic rewards trip to ABBA Voyage — an incredible concert experience that brings ABBA’s timeless music to life through stunning digital performances and live musicians.

The trip was a well-deserved reward for students who have shown consistent effort, kindness, and commitment throughout the term. From Dancing Queen to Mamma Mia, the energy in the ABBA Arena was electric, and our students loved every moment of this unique show.

It was wonderful to see so many smiling faces, singing and dancing along to some of pop’s most iconic hits — a true celebration of teamwork, positivity, and the joy of shared experiences.

Year 10: Jack Petchey "Speak Out" Challenge!

We’re thrilled to share that our Year 10 students are taking part in the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge.

As part of this prestigious public speaking programme, students spent the day working with expert trainers from Speakers Trust, building confidence, learning to speak with impact, and crafting powerful personal speeches. At the end of the workshop, every student delivered a speech to their class on something they are truly passionate about — and the creativity, courage, and energy on display was incredible.

The workshop has already sparked some fantastic speeches and meaningful discussions, and we can’t wait to see who will go on to represent our school in the upcoming Assembly Final!

GCSE Art Students & the Saatchi Gallery

We’re delighted to announce that our GCSE Art students are taking part in an exciting new project this term, made possible through the Cultural Capital Fund from the John Lyon’s Charity.

Working in partnership with the Saatchi Gallery education team, students are attending weekly special series of art workshops exploring the theme of identity. Across the term, they will experiment with new materials and techniques, reflect on what shapes who we are, and develop their own creative responses under the guidance of professional artists and educators.

This inspiring collaboration aims to broaden our students’ artistic horizons, deepen their understanding of contemporary art, and provide a valuable opportunity to engage directly with creative professionals.

The project will culminate in an end-of-term exhibition, where students will showcase their work to parents, carers, and the wider school community — celebrating creativity, self-expression, and the power of art to tell our stories.

Year 11 visit to City Hall: A Day of Politics, Perspectives and Panoramic Views

Last week, our Year 11 students had the opportunity to step into the heart of London politics with an exciting and enriching visit to City Hall.

The highlight of the visit was attending Mayor’s Question Time, where students saw Sadiq Khan, the Mayor of London, in action, answering questions on key issues affecting Londoners today. It was a unique chance to witness local democracy in motion and gain first-hand insight into how the city is governed.

After their visit to City Hall, students enjoyed an unforgettable ride on the Emirates Cable Cars, soaring across the Thames and taking in breathtaking views of London’s skyline.

The experience gave students a fresh perspective on civic life, political leadership, and the city they call home. Many came away inspired — and perhaps with ambitions to one day take their own seat in the chamber.

We also extend our thanks to the representatives from local sixth forms who attended the event. Their insights into post-16 pathways, entry requirements, and opportunities for Key Stage 5 provided helpful guidance as students begin to plan for life beyond All Saints. LAMDA Returns with a Thrilling Production of Romeo & Juliet

We had the pleasure of welcoming LAMDA to school on Thursday for an inspirational and animated performance of Romeo and Juliet as part of the Shakespeare in Schools Tour 2025. The fast-paced, high-energy production captivated our GCSE Drama students and brought the Bard's classic tale to life in an exciting and accessible way.

For the past three years, LAMDA MFA Acting students have delivered dynamic adaptations of Shakespeare’s most popular works at our school. These performances offer students a unique opportunity to engage with live theatre in close quarters — sparking creativity, curiosity, and a deeper understanding of the texts.

This year’s performance of Romeo & Juliet was followed by an engaging post-show workshop, giving students the chance to explore the themes, characters, and performance techniques in greater depth.

We are proud to be a LAMDA Local Partner School, and we look forward to continuing this partnership in the years to come!

Tate Shines at British Gymnastics National Finals

It was a big weekend in Telford for the British Gymnastics Trampoline National Age Group Finals — and we are incredibly proud to share that Tate is now officially ranked 5th nationally in his age group!

This is an outstanding achievement at such a high-level competition, and a testament to Tate’s dedication, skill, and hard work.

The event had an electric atmosphere, featuring unforgettable performances from world-class athletes and Olympians including Bryony Page, Corey Walkes, Luke Strong, and Zak Perzamanos — a truly inspirational experience for all involved.

Tate’s coaches, teammates, family, and friends are all incredibly proud of his success — and we can’t wait to see where his journey takes him next.

Alumni Visit: Inspiring Year 10 Students

We were honoured to welcome back distinguished alumna Laura Henry-Allain MBE (she/her) to ASCC last week. Laura is an award-winning producer, author, educationalist, and the creator of JoJo & Gran Gran — the UK’s first animated series centred on a Black British family.

During an inspiring assembly with our Year 10 students, Laura shared her remarkable journey from Sion Manning to becoming a celebrated creative professional. Speaking candidly about her experience with dyslexia, she emphasised how it has never held her back and encouraged students to believe in themselves and pursue their passions with confidence.

Students engaged actively, asking thoughtful questions about her career and school days—an aspect Laura described as a highlight of her visit. She also introduced her latest book, Maya and Marley and the Great Big Tidy Up, inspired by a local adventure playground in W10.

Reflecting on her return, Laura said, “What an honour to be back at my secondary school. I was amazed at the pupils' thoughtful questions about my career and life.”

We are incredibly grateful to Laura for inspiring the next generation with her wisdom, warmth, and powerful message of resilience.

Black History Month 2025

Our theme this year is Reclaiming Narratives – Proud to Be

This October, we celebrate Black History Month by recognising the contributions, stories, and achievements of Black people in Britain and around the world. The national theme, "Reclaiming Narratives," focuses on correcting and highlighting histories that have been ignored or untold.

Throughout Black History Month, the whole school will engage in a variety of activities including lessons, form time sessions (PSHE and Newsflash), assemblies, and special events. Students are encouraged to participate in competitions such as poster and poetry contests, spoken word, art, and even cooking. All staff, especially form tutors and teachers, are asked to actively engage with weekly slides, resources, and classroom discussions to support these initiatives. Additionally, there will be a focus on library books and displays, featuring titles like Black and British by David Olusoga (non-fiction), and fiction books including The Hate U Give, Buffalo Soldier, Crongton Knights, The Crossover, and How High the Moon.

It’s important to remember that Black History is taught year-round as an essential part of British History, not just during October. Most importantly, student voices will be central, with opportunities for them to share their thoughts, creativity, and ideas on what it means to be “Proud to Be.”

The event was organised by members of our Student Leadership Team, who did a fantastic job in preparing and running the morning. It was wonderful to welcome parents, carers, and members of the community into the school to enjoy coffee, cake, and conversation — all while supporting a very worthy cause.

Giulietta (Y7) to Represent Great Britain at World Martial Arts Games

We are proud to recognise the outstanding achievements of Giulietta, in Year 7, a committed and talented pupil who continues to excel in the discipline of Taekwondo.

Having begun her Taekwondo journey at the age of six, Giulietta has shown unwavering focus and determination. By the age of seven, she had already won gold medals in both sparring (kyorugi) and poomsae (choreographed patterns).

Since then, Giulietta has consistently competed at a high level, demonstrating the core values of her sport – respect, perseverance, and self-discipline. In 2024, she proudly represented Great Britain at the European Martial Arts Games, where she earned a bronze medal, becoming a European Medallist.

Now a red belt, Giulietta is preparing for the next stage of her journey: representing Great Britain once again at the upcoming World Martial Arts Games in Norway, the most significant competition of her career to date.

In addition to her competitive success, Giulietta contributes to her club community by assisting with coaching, supporting younger athletes, and serving as a positive role model.

We congratulate Giulietta on her continued success and wish her every success as she prepares to compete on the international stage.

Ruby-Jo: National Boxing Champion and GB Representative

We are proud to recognise the outstanding achievements of Ruby-Jo Dos Santos Mulligan, in Year 10, a dedicated and highly disciplined pupil at ASCC, whose commitment to boxing continues to deliver exceptional results.

Having trained consistently over the past four years, Ruby-Jo demonstrates an extraordinary level of perseverance, focus, and passion for her sport. She devotes most days of the week to training, constantly challenging herself to improve and compete at the highest level.

Earlier this year, Ruby-Jo’s efforts were rewarded when she claimed the Golden Gloves title at the Schools National Championships, securing her position as National Champion. Building on this success, she was selected to represent England at the prestigious Three Nations tournament, where she earned the title of GB Champion.

Ruby-Jo has since been attending national England Performance Camps, and we are delighted to share that she has secured a place on the U15 European Squad, where she will represent England at the forthcoming European Championships.

Her ambition is clear: to become European Champion, win Olympic gold, and ultimately pursue a career as a professional boxer. Ruby-Jo's achievements serve as an inspiration to the entire ASCC community, and she exemplifies the values of discipline, determination, and excellence.

Rising Star: Angelinou Pedro Impressing Across Arsenal Youth Ranks

We are incredibly proud to celebrate the achievements of one of our own students – Angelinou Pedro in Year 11 - who is currently making impressive strides in the Arsenal Football Club youth system.

Angelinou is a key member of the Arsenal U16 team, but his talent and determination have already earned him opportunities to play above his age group. He has featured for both the U17 and U18 squads, gaining valuable experience and showing maturity beyond his years on the pitch.

Earlier this year, Angelinou was part of the Arsenal U17 team that won the prestigious Flamengo Adidas Cup in Brazil – a remarkable international success that highlights his growing potential.

Even more impressively, he was selected to play for the U18s in a friendly against Dover, an opportunity rarely given to players still classified as schoolboys.

Angelinou’s dedication to both his sport and his education is an inspiration to the entire ASCC community. We are proud to support him on his journey and look forward to following his continued success both on and off the field.

Year 10 Citizenship Trip – Exploring Civic Life in London

Last Thursday, our Year 10 students enjoyed an enriching Citizenship trip to London’s City Hall, followed by a ride on the Emirates Air Line cable cars.

During their visit to City Hall, pupils took part in an educational session focused on civic responsibility and London’s governance. They explored the roles of the Mayor of London and the London Assembly, learned about political viewpoints, and gained insight into the policy-making process that shapes the capital. These sessions are a key part of the broader citizenship education curriculum, helping students better understand how democracy functions at a local level.

To round off the day, pupils enjoyed spectacular views of London from the cable cars — the perfect way to reflect on what they had learned while seeing the city from above.

Cinderella at the Coliseum

Last week, pupils from Years 8–11 had the fantastic opportunity to attend a performance of Cinderella (La Cenerentola) by Rossini at the iconic London Coliseum — home of the English National Opera (ENO).

This enchanting reimagining of the classic fairytale was brought to life with vibrant staging, stunning vocals, and Rossini’s signature wit and energy. For many students, it was their first experience of live opera, and they were captivated by the storytelling, the music, and the sheer scale of the production.

A huge thank you to the ENO for making opera accessible and engaging — and to our wonderful pupils, who were brilliant ambassadors throughout the trip!

We are delighted to announce that, thanks to funding from RBKC’s City Living, Local Life programme, our pupils now have access to brand-new playground equipment for lunch and break times. The pupils are loving it — the new equipment is helping to nurture friendships, keep everyone active, and make the most of the school day.

The City Living, Local Life programme is a ward-based community initiative that helps residents improve their neighbourhoods by providing funding for activities and projects. It’s a great way to share ideas, get involved in local decision-making, and connect with ward councillors who make funding decisions.

Year 9 Trip to see Dracula

On Wednesday, 60 of our Year 9 students visited the Lyric Theatre, Hammersmith, to watch a stage adaptation of Dracula. As part of their English curriculum, students are currently exploring gothic literature, so this production offered a valuable opportunity to see gothic conventions and characters brought vividly to life.

The modern adaptation was full of unexpected twists and turns, and our students were captivated as the spooky story unfolded on stage — complete with eerie sounds, ominous darkness, and even a few jump scares!

We kicked off our welcome evenings of the Michaelmas term with Year 8 last Thursday. This was an important opportunity for us to reconnect with families, celebrate the start of the year, and share how we can work in partnership to support students’ learning and wellbeing.

Our Year 8 students have recently enjoyed a wonderful experience at the Elev:8 Residential in PGL Liddington. Spanning 150 acres of lakes, woodland and open space, the centre provided the perfect backdrop for students to reset, reflect and reconnect with one another in the beauty of the natural world.

Throughout the week, students took part in a range of structured team-building, problem-solving, and outdoor activities designed to foster resilience, confidence and mutual support. Alongside the physical challenges, there were also opportunities for prayerful reflection and spiritual renewal, helping students to live out our school motto Orare, Laborare, Servire in practice.

The residential is more than just a school trip: it marks an important stage in our students’ journey together — a personal milestone and a shared rite of passage. In the words of John’s Gospel, it is a way of experiencing Christ’s promise: “I have come so that you may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10).

We are delighted to share that our recent Open Evening was a tremendous success. Our pupils were exemplary throughout the event, and we received many comments from visiting families about what excellent ambassadors they were for All Saints Catholic College.

The evening was brought to life by four outstanding performances from our Schola, which created a truly special atmosphere and showcased the breadth of musical talent within our school. In addition, every department impressed our guests with engaging displays, activities, and conversations, giving families a real insight into the richness of teaching and learning at All Saints.

Across England, millions of children and families are beginning a new school year.

As a father of two, I know well the pride and joy of watching your children grow up. But I also understand how juggling parenthood, work and other responsibilities can sometimes be difficult especially when the cost-of-living is still tough, childcare is expensive, and your time is tight.

Supporting families is at the heart of our Plan for Change. Over the past year we have started to deliver the change promised – new help designed to make your life easier and give your children the best possible start.

We are making high quality childcare more affordable by introducing 30 hours of government-funded childcare during term time, from the end of parental leave to the start of primary school, saving an average working parent up to £7,500 per year – money that stays in your pocket foryour family's needs.

We are making family life easier too, with hundreds of school-based nursery places opening this September, and thousands more to come. This means more families can access government-funded childcare and perhaps manage with just one school run in the morning. This comes alongside expanding wraparound childcare available to you outside of school hours, including a free Best Start Breakfast Club which we will be rolling out in every primaryschool.

We are proud to build on the legacy of Sure Start through our Best Start Family Hubs, a growing network of welcoming spaces. Families can access a wide range of support and services to make the journey of being a parent a little easier – from expert advice on feeding your baby to how to support your toddler’s learning and development at home.

Of course, this is just the beginning. This government will keep building support for you and your family to help make parenting easier and ensure no child’s background dictates what they go on to achieve. GCSE Success at All Saints!

We are delighted to share the fantastic achievements of our Year 11 students in this year’s GCSE exams.

Over 30% of all grades awarded were 7–9, showing the incredible dedication of our students and the support from our staff and families.

An impressive 75% of students secured grade 4 or above in both English and Maths, a key benchmark for future pathways.

Our Average Attainment 8 score was 5.11, which means that, on average, students achieved above a grade 5 across their best eight subjects. This is a strong result and reflects the hard work and resilience shown throughout the year.

Celebration Day 2025: A Joyful End to a Fantastic Year at All Saints

Our annual Celebration Day is one of the most anticipated events in the All Saints calendar—a time for students and staff to come together, reflect on the year gone by, and celebrate all that we’ve achieved as a school community.

The day began with the whole school gathered on the front playground for a beautiful outdoor Mass. Our Schola Cantorum led the service with uplifting hymns, setting a reflective and celebratory tone. The Mass gave us the chance to pause and give thanks for the successes of the past year, as well as to look ahead with hope and excitement for what’s to come.

Following the service, Mr Walton and Mr Willis presented a wide range of awards recognising students who have gone above and beyond in their efforts this year. We were also proud to introduce our new Head Boy, Head Girl, and Student Leadership Team—young leaders who will help guide our school community into the next academic year.

In the afternoon, the celebrations truly kicked off as the school playgrounds were transformed into a funfair! Students enjoyed inflatable obstacle courses, bouncy castles, fairground games, karaoke, face painting, and the chance to ‘Beat the Goalie’. With sweet stalls, an ice cream van, and a barbecue adding to the festivities, the atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and school spirit.

It was a day of celebration, gratitude, and togetherness—one that reminded us all why All Saints is such a special place to belong. Thank you to every student and member of staff who made the day so memorable.

We had a fantastic Sports Day at the Linford Christie Stadium, packed with energy, teamwork, and unforgettable moments. Students took part in a range of events including running, long jump, discus, shot put, high jump, and vortex throw—giving it their all under the blazing sun!

Despite the heat, the spirit and enthusiasm from both staff and students were incredible. It was a day full of friendly competition, encouragement, and celebration of athletic talent across the school.

The All Saints Sirens danced their way to victory at the Youth Action Alliance (YAA) Dance Energy Final, held at the prestigious Cadogan Hall. Competing in the senior category (ages 11–18), our 12 talented dancers faced tough competition from over 10 dance troupes—but their energy, skill, and teamwork stood out.

All Saints Celebrates Bastille Day

On Monday 14th July, All Saints came alive with the colours, culture, and creativity of France as we celebrated Bastille Day, the French national holiday. The day was packed with activities that brought a little piece of France into every corner of the school.

Students enjoyed a lively boules competition, posed for fun snapshots in a French-themed photo booth, and were treated to a special French menu in the canteen. Across departments, staff delivered creative and engaging lessons linking their subjects to French culture, history, and achievements.

In Science, students explored the work of pioneering French scientists; Maths lessons highlighted the legacy of René Descartes. RE classes looked at French saints, while History focused on the events of the French Revolution and the origins of Bastille Day. PE celebrated French sporting stars like Victor Wembanyama, recently drafted into the NBA.

Music featured French artists across genres, and Geography lessons mapped out France’s terrain and mountain ranges, including Mont Blanc. English lessons explored literary links between France and the UK, and MFL ran a Bastille Day quiz. Food Tech looked at iconic French cuisine and the country’s world-renowned food industry. Art students learned about influential French artists, and Drama celebrated the tradition of mime and modern French cinema.

Summer Concert at the Royal College of Music

Our music department has grown so much that we’ve officially outgrown the school hall—so this year, we took things to the next level! We were thrilled to host our summer concert at the prestigious Royal College of Music’s Amaryllis-Fleming Concert Hall.

Moving 120 students (plus instruments, music, robes, and packed lunches!) was no small feat, but Dr Slimings and Miss Finlay made it happen with military precision. Highlights included students playing a Steinway Concert Grand for the first time, and organ students performing on the symphonic organ as the audience arrived.

The concert theme, The Americas, featured music across a range of genres, and ended with a powerful performance of Dvořák’s New World Symphony, followed by Don’t Stop Believin’, featuring an epic guitar solo from Yasmin in Year 10.

We also celebrated our brilliant Year 11s and awarded the first-ever St Cecilia’s Award for Dedication to Music, to two pupils: Gracie O and Charmaine S.

A huge well done to all involved—your passion and dedication made this an unforgettable evening.

Year 9 &10 Prizegiving – A Celebration of Hard Work and Determination

Our students have shown real commitment this year, embracing challenges, supporting one another, and making the most of every opportunity.

Governor Mission Day Visit

We were delighted to welcome our Governors for a special visit day that offered a real insight into life at All Saints. The day began with lunch alongside our current and incoming Teach First trainees – a great opportunity to celebrate our commitment to developing the next generation of teachers.

Governors then enjoyed a lively performance and Q&A with a range of student ensembles in our Wild Garden – a fantastic showcase of the creativity and confidence our students bring to school life.

Mr Walton followed with a presentation on Elev8, our exciting new approach to Year 8 – often called ‘the forgotten year’. He outlined how All Saints is putting Year 8 at the heart of our curriculum, with a bold and enriching programme designed to stretch and inspire every student.

In the afternoon, Governors heard from students and staff in a series of presentations. Our Student Ambassadors spoke about leadership at All Saints, while others shared their experiences of the Lonely Londoners project and the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Staff then gave an overview of our work on inclusive mainstream education, innovative pastoral care, and how we support and grow outstanding teachers.

The day ended with afternoon tea and a tour of our new building. A big thank you to all the students and staff who took part.

Year 10 Work Experience Success

We are proud to share that several All Saints students have completed their Work Experience with UNLOC and the Construction Youth Trust, receiving certificates of commendation to mark their achievements.

Throughout the week, our Year 10 pupils worked hard to design their own community centre from the ground up, focusing on how it could support local residents through initiatives centred on mental health and wellbeing.

The programme culminated in a professional pitch, where students presented their ideas to local entrepreneurs, business leaders, and representatives from RBKC. It was inspiring to see the progress they made in communication, teamwork, and initiative.

A fantastic end to a highly successful week – well done to all involved!

A huge thank you to the London Sports Trust for delivering our final kayaking lesson of the term. It has been a fantastic opportunity for our pupils to learn new skills, build confidence, and enjoy an exciting outdoor activity.

In our final session, pupils put their training into action by heading out onto the canal, navigating the waterways of West London. After weeks of learning technique and safety at the London Sports Trust, it was a brilliant way to finish the course.

We’ve been lucky with the weather too – perfect conditions for being out on the water during these hot summer days. A big well done to all pupils who took part!

Last Thursday, it was Year 8’s turn to shine at their Awards Evening. The event recognised pupils who have shown outstanding effort, progress, and commitment to learning throughout the year.

Awards were presented for excellence across subjects, contributions to form time, kindness, dedication to Catholic life, personal growth and resilience. Special recognition was also given to our top sportsperson, the pupil with the most stars, and the recipient of the Headteacher’s Award.

It was a wonderful evening that celebrated the hard work, character, and achievements of our Year 8 pupils. Congratulations to all our award winners. We are very proud of you.

A Warm Welcome to Our Future Year 7 Students

Today we were delighted to welcome our new Year 7 cohort to All Saints Catholic College for their Induction Day. Miss Bradley, Head of Year 7, was joined by our Acting Headteacher, Mr Walton, and members of the Senior Leadership Team to greet the students and introduce them to life at secondary school. It was a fantastic day filled with excitement, as students met new friends and teachers, took part in activities, and began to get a real sense of what September will bring.

While teachers will guide students through their learning when they join us, we encourage them to explore what’s ahead over the summer. In English, students will study Greek myths and legends, creative writing, and explore themes of magic, witchcraft, Macbeth, and Harry Potter. Maths will focus on working with numbers, sequences, decimals, shapes, and financial maths. Science will cover particles and their behaviour, cells, and forces, while in Religious Education students will explore themes from creation to covenant, and prophecy and promise.

There is plenty to look forward to in Year 7, including Curriculum Enhancement Days, where students take part in termly educational trips to places like the Globe Theatre, museums, and places of worship. Rewards trips offer special outings for those who go above and beyond—recently including a visit to see Matilda in the West End. We also stage a school production each year, which gives students the chance to perform or support behind the scenes; this year’s Guys and Dolls was a huge success.

We look forward to welcoming our new Year 7s properly in September and watching them flourish as part of our school community. Until then, we wish all our incoming students a restful and happy summer.

Year 10 Work Experience Week

From 30th June to 4th July, our Year 10 students participated in Work Experience Week, gaining invaluable insight into the world of work and a taste of potential future careers.

Students secured placements across a range of sectors, reflecting their interests and aspirations. Some of the fantastic locations included School IE Vicente Canada Branch – Spanish School, Bevington Primary School, Kensington Library, Penella Restaurant & Café, Dr Care Chemist, and Portobello Juice Bar.

Over the course of the week, students completed full working hours, developed essential skills such as communication, time management and teamwork, and represented All Saints Catholic College with maturity and enthusiasm.

Work Experience Week plays a vital role in preparing our students for life beyond school, helping to shape their decisions about college, sixth forms and apprenticeships. We are incredibly proud of how they embraced the opportunity and made the most of their placements.

All Saints Students Attend Wimbledon 2025

This week, a group of All Saints students had the incredible opportunity to attend the Wimbledon Tennis Championships, thanks to the school securing tickets for Court 2 in the official ballot.

Students were selected to attend the trip as a reward for their outstanding effort and achievement in interhouse games throughout the year. It was a well-deserved celebration of their commitment to school sport and their positive contributions to our community.

The group travelled from Ladbroke Grove to Southfields by tube and spent the day soaking up the iconic Wimbledon atmosphere, enjoying exciting matches and gaining inspiration from the world-class talent on display.

As always, our students were excellent ambassadors for the school, and we are so proud of the way they represented All Saints on this special day.

Our Year 10 students recently embarked on their Duke of Edinburgh expedition to Chesham, setting off with great enthusiasm and a sense of adventure. The trip provided a much-needed break following recent assessments and offered the perfect opportunity to develop key skills beyond the classroom.

The day began with light rain, but spirits remained high as the students tackled the initial stages of their route with determination and good humour. As the morning progressed, the weather transformed beautifully, with sunshine breaking through to reveal the picturesque countryside in all its glory.

Throughout the expedition, our students demonstrated exceptional teamwork, resilience, and a positive attitude—supporting one another and working collaboratively to navigate the day’s challenges. It was a fantastic start to their DofE journey and a credit to the group’s maturity and camaraderie.

We are incredibly proud of how well they represented the school and look forward to seeing them continue to grow through the remainder of the programme.

Year 11 Prom – A Night in Hollywood 🌟

On Thursday evening, our fabulous Year 11 students came together to celebrate the end of an era with their much-anticipated Prom Night, themed “A Night in Hollywood.”

Everyone looked like true stars—glamorous, grown-up, and ready for the red carpet! It was hard to believe how much they’ve grown, especially after just a few short weeks away from school. The atmosphere was filled with joy, laughter, and a real sense of celebration as students enjoyed delicious food, indulged in an abundance of sweets, and showcased some seriously impressive dance moves on the floor.

The evening was a perfect tribute to the hard work, friendships, and memories built over the last five years at All Saints Catholic College. It was heartwarming to see students and staff enjoying this special time together, reflecting on the journey so far and looking ahead to all the future holds.

Festival of Hope – Celebrating the Jubilee Year at Westminster Cathedral

On 24th June 2025, our Catholic Life Ambassadors proudly represented All Saints Catholic College at the Festival of Hope—a joyful and faith-filled event held at Westminster Cathedral for schools across the Westminster Diocese. The festival marked the Jubilee Year of Hope, celebrating unity, service, and the enduring love of Christ.

Our talented steel pan band opened the day with a vibrant performance at the Cathedral entrance, setting a joyful tone and warmly welcoming guests with music full of energy and spirit.

During the celebration, His Eminence Cardinal Vincent Nichols delivered a powerful and moving homily, reminding all present of the central message: “Nothing can separate me from the love of Christ.”

The day also featured a variety of engaging charity stalls, where students had the chance to explore how faith, action, and service come together to inspire hope and positive change in the world.

It was a truly uplifting occasion—filled with music, reflection, and a renewed commitment to live out the values of our faith. We are incredibly proud of our ambassadors and musicians for representing our school with such dignity, joy, and purpose.

Cycle Rides & Picnics – A Huge Hit This Term! 🚴‍♀️☀️

We’ve had an incredible response to our cycle rides and picnics this term! Pupils have loved the chance to get out and about, breathe in some fresh air, and enjoy a healthy break from their usual routine. It’s been fantastic to see students socialising with peers they don’t normally interact with, building new friendships and confidence along the way.

A huge thank you to our amazing Engagement Team for organising everything so seamlessly—and to the dedicated staff volunteers who’ve come along, rain or shine, to make each outing special. Your support has truly made a difference.

As part of our ongoing commitment to providing the highest quality education and enrichment opportunities at All Saints, a group of selected Year 9 Geography students recently took part in a special reward trip to Earthfest—a vibrant sustainability festival held at King’s Cross.

Students were chosen based on their outstanding engagement and effort in class. The event offered an incredible opportunity to deepen their understanding of the climate crisis and explore the positive actions individuals and communities can take to protect our planet.

Earthfest brought together eco-conscious citizens, innovative organisations, and sustainability leaders for a day filled with education, inspiration, and action. The festival's mission—to inspire climate action and amplify diverse voices often left out of the conversation—resonated strongly with our students.

We were thrilled to witness a truly special performance this term from Year 5 from St Mary's Brook Green and our Year 7 students. Their talent, enthusiasm, and hard work shone brightly on stage, leaving the entire school community inspired and uplifted.

The performance was the culmination of a wonderful collaboration with St Mary’s School. Over the past five weeks, Miss Love, has been visiting St Mary’s to work with their Year 5 class which concluded with a moving and beautifully executed musical number that was met with huge applause from the school audience.

A Moving Premiere: Sir James MacMillan's New Motet for the ASCC Schola

This year’s memorial Mass at Westminster Cathedral was especially poignant, marked by the world premiere of a newly commissioned motet by renowned composer Sir James MacMillan, written specifically for the ASCC Schola.

Inspired by the In Paradisum text from the Requiem Mass, the motet is a deeply reflective work that beautifully weaves together the timeless tradition of Gregorian chant with a subtle, touching reference to O When the Saints—a heartfelt nod to the choir’s name and spiritual roots.

The premiere was a profoundly emotional moment for our community, bringing us together in shared remembrance and honouring those we have lost. It was a testament to the power of sacred music to comfort, uplift, and unify.

Looking ahead, this powerful new work will be recorded as part of the Schola’s ambitious 2026 project, a major milestone in our journey and a reaffirmation of our commitment to creating music that resonates across time and tradition.

Sir James MacMillan, one of the leading composers of his generation, studied music at Edinburgh University and earned his doctorate in composition at Durham University under John Casken. His distinguished career includes appointments with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra, and the BBC Philharmonic, among others. Internationally acclaimed as both a composer and conductor, he was awarded a CBE in 2004 for his services to music.

We are deeply grateful to Sir James for his contribution to our musical life and look forward to sharing this remarkable piece more widely later this year.

On Friday, All Saints held its annual Requiem Mass in remembrance of the victims of the Grenfell Tower fire, marking the eighth anniversary of the tragedy. This year’s service featured a poignant musical centrepiece: a newly commissioned motet by Sir James MacMillan, written especially for the ASCC Schola. Inspired by the In Paradisum text from the Requiem Mass, the piece draws on Gregorian chant traditions and subtly weaves in the melodic contours of O When the Saints—a touching tribute to the choir’s name and spiritual legacy.

The motet received its world premiere at the memorial Mass held at Westminster Cathedral. It was an incredibly moving experience—both beautiful and reflective—as our community came together to honour the memory of those lost and to share in our collective grief.

The piece will be recorded as part of the Schola’s ambitious 2026 recording project, marking a major milestone in the choir’s journey and reaffirming their dedication to creating music that is both meaningful and transformative.

We’re excited to share that the London Sports Trust has generously offered free sessions of Canal Side Kayaking exclusively for All Saints students as part of their effort to promote their after-school club.

Our Year 7 students had the chance to try kayaking during their PE lesson, and it was a fantastic experience—fun, active, and a great way to build confidence on the water!

All Saints Catholic College came alive during our Summer Fringe Festival, a dynamic celebration of music, drama, and student talent that transformed the entire school site into a vibrant hub of performance and creativity. Audiences were treated to four short productions alongside live music, showcasing the passion and skill of our students and staff.

�� A Relative Relationship

This witty short musical unfolded just outside Vice-Principal Valancy’s office, where two half-siblings hilariously quibbled over who was truly to blame for cheating on an English test. The clever script and catchy musical numbers delighted audiences.

�� The Scottish Play

Performed in our black box theatre, this bold reimagining of Macbeth combined the power of Shakespeare’s language with live improvisation from professional musicians. A talented student cast delivered a haunting, immersive performance that drew the audience into the play’s infamous madness.

�� Red Pitch

Staged on our brand-new Astroturf, Red Pitch told the fast-paced, emotionally charged story of three London teens chasing football dreams while their neighbourhood faced the pressures of gentrification. The performance was full of heart, humour, and powerful moments of reflection.

�� Welcome to Valhalla

Set in a chaotic Viking afterlife—or perhaps “ValueHalla”—this feel-good comedy had audiences laughing out loud. With its quirky characters and playful humour, the show was a joyful end to an exciting evening of theatre.

�� Jazz Café

Adding to the festival atmosphere, our Jazz Café provided live music from our talented student musicians. Guests enjoyed relaxing with drinks and conversation while listening to an eclectic mix of lighter pieces.

The Summer Fringe Festival 2025 was a true celebration of the arts at All Saints—highlighting the imagination, energy, and excellence that define our school community.

Year 10 Students Visit to the University of Oxford

Yesterday, a group of our Year 10 students had the incredible opportunity to visit the University of Oxford, with a special focus on Oriel College, one of its oldest and most prestigious colleges.

The visit was designed to inspire students as they begin to consider their future academic and career paths. During the day, they enjoyed a guided tour of Oriel’s historic grounds, including the library, gardens, and dining hall—gaining a real sense of student life at one of the world’s leading universities.

Students also took part in mini-lectures, interactive sessions, and talks led by current Oxford students and academic staff. These offered valuable insights into university life, subject choices, and the Oxford application process—from A-level decisions and personal statements to interview preparation.

It was a fantastic day that broadened horizons, raised aspirations, and encouraged our students to think ambitiously about the future. We’re incredibly proud of their curiosity, focus, and the thoughtful questions they asked throughout the visit.

Mr O'Neill Appointed to National Education Role

We are proud to share that Mr Andrew O'Neill, Headteacher of All Saints Catholic College, has been appointed as a School Leader Advisor to the Department for Education. This prestigious 12-month secondment begins on 4th June 2025 and will see Mr O’Neill work closely with government ministers and officials to help shape national education policy and strategy.

This appointment is a significant recognition of Mr O’Neill’s outstanding leadership and the remarkable transformation of All Saints in recent years. Once a school facing closure, All Saints is now rated Outstanding in every category by Ofsted (2023). With soaring applications and a reputation as one of the most sought-after comprehensive schools in the country, our success story is now seen as a national model of excellence.

The Department for Education’s decision to turn to All Saints for inspiration is a testament to what we have achieved together as a school community.

During Mr O'Neill’s secondment, the school will be in strong and experienced hands. Mr Paul Walton, a senior leader instrumental in our recent successes, will step into the role of Acting Headteacher. Mr Walton brings a wealth of experience and a shared commitment to our values and the success of every pupil. Supporting him will be Miss Sinead Nammock, who will take on the role of Acting Head of School. Miss Nammock is a highly respected member of our leadership team, known for her expertise and dedication to our pupils and values.

As we prepare to open our new £6 million building this September, All Saints continues to thrive and expand. Our mission—Orare, Laborare, Servire—remains at the heart of all we do.

This term, the Engagement Team launched ‘Get on Your Bike’, an exciting new initiative supporting mentored students through active outdoor experiences. Staff and students have taken part in bike rides followed by picnic lunches, creating a relaxed and enjoyable space to build relationships, promote well-being, and encourage healthy habits.

The initiative has been a big hit—pupils are loving it, and the positive impact on confidence, connection, and overall engagement is already clear.

Jamie’s Farm Residential – Learning, Growth & Connection in the Countryside

This week, a group of our Year 9 and Year 10 students have been enjoying a wonderful residential at Jamie’s Farm – Hill House, just outside of Bath. As the original and central hub of the Jamie’s Farm network, Hill House is a place where young people connect with nature, meaningful work, and each other.

Throughout the week, students have embraced a variety of enriching, hands-on activities—from cooking, gardening, and log chopping to photography, feeding livestock, and moving cattle. These immersive tasks are designed to build resilience, confidence, and a strong sense of community, while also offering a welcome break from the everyday routine.

On Tuesday the pupils ended with a well-earned paddle in the river—a chance to unwind and reflect after a full day of purposeful activity.

They have been lucky with beautiful weather and look forward to the rest of the week as students continue to grow, learn, and make lasting memories.

As a reward for their outstanding commitment and engagement in our basketball programme this year, selected students from Years 7 to 9 were treated to an unforgettable experience—the British Basketball League Play-Off Finals at the iconic O2 Arena in London.

They witnessed a spectacular showdown as the Leicester Riders dominated the Newcastle Eagles, securing the Super League Basketball Championship title with an emphatic 105–74 victory. The Riders’ impressive performance drew them level with the Eagles as the most successful teams in league history.

It was an inspiring day for our students—celebrating elite-level basketball and rewarding their dedication to sport here at All Saints.

Curriculum Enhancement Day – Learning Beyond the Classroom

On Friday 16th May, students took their learning out of the classroom and into the real world for our exciting Curriculum Enhancement Day. From river cruises to art galleries, film studios to finance workshops – it was a day full of discovery and hands-on learning.

Highlights included:

Thames River Cruise– Students explored how the river helped shape London using historical OS maps and studied changes in land use over time.

Outdoor Survival Skills – Pupils built shelters, made fires, and purified water, linking to Year 7’s English unit The Natural World.

Garden Studios Visit – Students experienced an Acting for Screen workshop at the same studios used by Netflix, Disney, and ITV.

Smoothie Branding Challenge – Inspired by Innocent, students designed and pitched their own smoothie products, learning all about marketing and brand identity.

Art Trips – Visits to the Tate Modern and Wallace Collection helped students sharpen their observational and sketching skills.

St Paul’s Cathedral – Over 500 steps climbed and panoramic views enjoyed – a fantastic way to explore architecture and history.

Docklands Museum – Year 8s learned about trade, empire, and slavery through hands-on exhibits and activities.

Finance Workshops – Pupils became ‘Savvy Customers’ in sessions run by The Money Charity, tackling budgeting, spending, and saving.

Landmark Challenges – A fun city-wide problem-solving game tested teamwork and logic.

Buckingham Palace & Westminster – Some Year 10s even caught a glimpse of the King during their visit!

Go Ape - A challenging and exciting PE trip for Y9. Co-ordination, balance and a sense of agility were musts - eluding some of our staff along the way!

It was a fantastic day that brought subjects to life and reminded us all that learning can happen anywhere.

Year 9 Retreat: "Called By Name" – A Journey of Faith and Identity

Our Year 9 students recently took part in their annual retreat at the Jesuit Centre in Mayfair, a reflective and enriching experience centred around the theme "Called By Name."

The retreat offered a valuable opportunity for students to explore their unique identity and vocation in the light of God's love. Through a series of engaging activities, reflective prayer, meaningful discussions, and the celebration of Mass, pupils were invited to reflect on how deeply they are known, loved, and called by God.

This time away from the everyday routine encouraged students to listen more closely to God’s call in their lives, understanding that each person is uniquely named and created with purpose. As they connected with one another and deepened their relationship with God, they were inspired to live out the call to love—of God, of neighbour, and of self.

This spiritual journey reminded them that being "called by name" is not just a phrase, but an invitation to embrace their faith, their identity, and their role in the vibrant communities they are part of.

Year 10 Geography Field Trip to Walton-on-the-Naze

Our Year 10 Geography students recently visited Walton-on-the-Naze to complete the physical fieldwork component of their GCSE course. This trip is a key part of their studies and directly supports one of their exam topics.

During the visit, students investigated the impacts of coastal management on coastal processes and local communities. Through hands-on data collection and analysis, they explored how different defences influence erosion, transportation, and deposition along the coastline.

This trip forms one half of their required fieldwork—covering the physical geography element. Later this year, they’ll also complete a human geography fieldwork, with both components examined in their final GCSE assessments next June.

Warming up for the match!We’re thrilled to announce that All Saints has launched its very own netball league this term—an exciting new chapter for our school’s sporting community!

Our league debut kicked off with two All Saints teams, made up of talented and enthusiastic girls from Years 7 to 9. On Tuesday, they took to the courts in a fantastic afternoon of netball, welcoming teams from Holland Park, Kensington Aldridge Academy (KAA), and St Thomas More for a brilliant round of matches.

For many of our players, it was their first time representing the school in an inter-school netball match.

Match Highlights:

All Saints Team 1

Comprised of determined Year 7 and 8 students, Team 1 faced a strong KAA side. Despite a loss, the team showed incredible resilience and teamwork throughout.

**Standout performers** included Aaliyah T (Year 8) for her outstanding defensive work and Hannah Grace B (Year 7), who shone as the team’s top goal scorer.

All Saints Team 2

Featuring our more experienced Year 9 players, Team 2 delivered a confident and strategic performance against St Thomas More, securing a brilliant 18–4 victory.

Special mentions go to Olivia C, Yanet M, Wynter-Tae A, and Savannah P, who not only played superbly but also set a fantastic example for their younger teammates.

We couldn’t be prouder of all the players for their effort, sportsmanship, and team spirit.

As part of Kindness Week, they’ve been set a special challenge: to carry out small acts of kindness each day—and it’s already creating a ripple effect of positivity around the school.

What counts as a small act of kindness? It could be something as simple as inviting someone to join them at lunch, checking in on a classmate, offering a helping hand, or even just sharing a smile and a kind word. These moments might seem minor, but they help build a stronger, more caring school community—one where everyone feels seen, valued, and supported.

Thursday 8 May 2025 marks 80 years since VE Day (Victory in Europe Day), the historic moment when the Second World War came to an end in Europe.

On this day in 1945, after years of conflict, the long-awaited announcement of peace led to spontaneous celebrations across the country. A national holiday was declared and people of all ages and backgrounds came together to rejoice in the streets, united by hope for a better future.

This 80th anniversary is a time for the nation to come together to learn and reflect on the stories of those who lived through the war — from the servicemen and women who fought, to children who were evacuated, and the women who kept the country running on the home front.

To mark this significant milestone, VE Day 80 events and activities are taking place across the UK.

Year 9 Visit to See 'Dear England' at the National Theatre

On Wednesday, Year 9 had the exciting opportunity to see Dear England, the Olivier Award-winning play that has returned to the National Theatre. This powerful production tells the story of England football manager Gareth Southgate, exploring the pressures of elite sport and the symbolic role of the national men’s football team in shaping the national identity. The play also touches on important themes such as masculinity, vulnerability, and leadership in sport.

The students were captivated by the performance, which combined humour with emotional depth. They were especially impressed by how well the actors captured the personalities of real-life players.

Stamford, Year 9: “It was really good – I loved it! The players were so funny. Jordan Pickford was my favourite character. He was hilarious and just like the real footballer!”

Robel, Year 9: “It was very good. Dele Alli was my favourite because he was funny and I felt like I related to his personality. My favourite part was after the England vs Italy game, when everyone was abusing the players – it really made you think about what they must be feeling, and how no one truly knows what they're going through.”

This trip sparked some great conversations and reflections – a memorable experience for all! Thanks to Mr Fisher and Ms Jeffreys for organising the trip.

Saint Catherine of Siena original watercolour by Sarah TalbotToday, pupils of House C commemorated the Feast Day of St. Catherine of Siena, a remarkable 14th-century Italian mystic and a revered figure in the Roman Catholic Church. Born in Siena, Italy, in 1347, Catherine dedicated her life to God through prayer, service, and a profound spiritual life. Her writings, particularly The Dialogue, and her letters, are considered important works of religious literature. She is also known for her work in helping the sick and the poor, and for her political activism in urging the Pope to return to Rome.

Today began with a special House assembly, where students delved into the life and legacy of St. Catherine, exploring her unwavering faith and dedication to service. This was followed by an early lunch, providing an opportunity for pupils to be together and reflect on the day's significance. After lunch everyone enjoyed games and fun activities on the Astro, fostering a sense of community and celebration among House C pupils.

This celebration not only honoured St. Catherine's contributions to the Church and society but also served as a reminder of the values of faith, service, and community that she embodied.

"The death of Pope Francis brings great sadness to so many around the world, both within the Catholic Church and in societies in general. A voice proclaiming the innate dignity of every human being, especially those who are poor or marginalised, is now silent. The legacy he leaves is one we must seek to carry forward and strengthen.

Pope Francis was called to priesthood through his experience of the mercy and compassion of God. This remained the core of his ministry, as Priest, Bishop and Pontiff. Only in understanding the love and mercy of God towards each one of us can we fashion societies and communities that bear the mark of the "kingdom of God".

This same focus and emphasis lay at this desire to see membership of the Church as being rooted in "missionary discipleship", a dynamic and powerful vision for every Christian and every community. Now we pray for the repose of his soul, that he may know, in full measure, the merciful and loving embrace of the Father, of the one God to whom he gave his life in unstinting service. May he now rest in peace and rise in glory."

Year 7's Reach the Finals!

The Year 7 football team delivered a fantastic performance to hand KAA their first defeat of the season and secure their place in finals weekend.

In a hard-fought and competitive match, the boys demonstrated the determination and teamwork that have been the hallmarks of their season. With both sides battling for control, it was Saul who made the breakthrough, calmly finishing to give the team a crucial lead.

From that moment on, the team showed incredible grit — defending with discipline and pressing with real intensity to protect their lead. Every player played their part in what was a memorable and deserved victory.

A special mention goes to James, who was outstanding in defence and earned the Man of the Match award for a commanding display — including one tackle that sent a KAA player head over heels!

This result is a testament to the team’s commitment, spirit, and growth throughout the year.

We had a fantastic time at our Easter Concert yesterday, with nearly 100 musicians on stage, showcasing the incredible musical talent within our school community! The event highlighted our instrumental provision, featured our amazing large ensembles, and gave outstanding soloists a chance to shine.

A huge congratulations to Schola, the School Choir, String Orchestra, Ladbrook Groove, the Barbershop group, Wind band, Rock band, Guitar ensemble, and all our talented musicians for their incredible performances!

We were so impressed by our Year 7 choir for their standout performance, as well as our quartet, string orchestra, and symphony orchestra for their exceptional contributions.

A special mention goes to Gracie in Y11, who wrote an incredible composition for the string quartet.

Well done to all involved!

Twelve of our pupils have been participating in a fantastic programme with The Academy of Confidence in Communicating, designed to enhance public speaking and key communication skills.

Through 1:1 sessions with a trained actor every two weeks, students have researched and debated various topics, sharpening their ability to express ideas clearly and confidently.

In addition to debate practice, they have also been preparing and performing monologues, which they recently presented to family and friends—a wonderful showcase of their progress and hard work! Well done to all involved!

Performing Arts – Drama Trip

On Thursday, 28th March, 75 Year 8 and 9 pupils attended the Schools Performance of The Left Behinds at Morley College, in partnership with the National Theatre.

This performance is part of the National Theatre’s ongoing commitment to North Kensington and its community, following their Grenfell project two years ago. Set in a post-apocalyptic future, The Left Behinds follows Kit and her friends as they navigate the aftermath of a failed AI experiment, facing a choice between restoring the past or embracing an uncertain future

The immersive, fast-paced production had our students laughing, thinking, and fully engaged. We are incredibly grateful to the National Theatre for enriching our curriculum and providing our pupils with the invaluable experience of live theatre.

Year 10 Citizenship Trip to the Royal Courts of Justice

Last Friday, our Year 10 Citizenship students had the incredible opportunity to visit the Royal Courts of Justice. Guided through the historic 19th-century building, students stepped into a real courtroom to take part in a mock trial.

Taking on roles such as judges, clerks, barristers, solicitors, jurors, and witnesses, they examined evidence to determine whether a crime had been committed. After careful deliberation, the prosecution side prevailed, with the jury delivering a guilty verdict.

This hands-on experience provided valuable insight into the justice system, and our students did an excellent job embracing their roles. Well done to all involved!

On Tuesday 1st April, our Year 10 GCSE Art class visited the Tate Modern to explore the Electric Dreams exhibition and the gallery’s general collection, gathering ideas and inspiration for their "Dreamscapes" project.

Electric Dreams celebrates pioneering artists who redefined visual art through optical, kinetic, programmed, and digital techniques—offering a rare glimpse into the early days of immersive and tech-driven art. From light and movement to sound, students were fascinated by the dynamic and interactive nature of the works on display.

GCSE Music Students shine at Hertfordshire Music Service’s Exploration Concert

As part of a busy week for the Performing Arts department, Dr. Slimings and Miss Finlay took a group of GCSE Music students to Stevenage for the Hertfordshire Music Service’s GCSE Exploration Concert.

The event provided an incredible opportunity for students to deepen their understanding of their set works, as a professional orchestra dissected the pieces harmonically and offered valuable insights into composition techniques. It was an inspiring and educational experience that left our students buzzing with ideas for their own work.

A standout moment of the trip was when our very own Charmaine (Year 11) was invited to perform Defying Gravity in front of an audience of 400 peers. She absolutely captivated the room, delivering a breathtaking performance that showcased both the power and range of her voice. The entire audience was in awe, and we couldn’t be prouder of her achievement!

This trip was a fantastic experience for all involved, reinforcing our students’ passion for music and equipping them with invaluable knowledge for their GCSE studies.

Schola Cantorum - Handel's Messiah

Yesterday the Schola Cantorum performed a concert with a professional baroque orchestra at St James’ Church, Spanish Place. After performing Handel’s Messiah part 1 (the Christmas bits) last year, we performed the passiontide narrative of part two, ahead of our full performance next year to mark the 5 year anniversary of Schola.

As a companion to this, the choir performed excerpts from Bach’s Jesu Meine Freude, a motet composed of some of the hardest fugues we’ve ever tackled, as well as sublime hymns.

Conducted by Mr Bick, with solos by Dr Slimings and Mr Newlove playing the continuo (special solo organ part) the choir sounded amazing in the beautiful surroundings of the church.

The power of the combined voices of 40 singers was something to be reckoned with and would give opera choruses a run for their money. So come and see ASCC’s fully staged production of Carmen onstage at Opera Holland Park later this year!

Year 7/8 Girls Football Results

Our Year 7/8 girls' football team put in a fantastic performance in their away match against Phoenix Academy on Tuesday, securing a well-earned 4-2 victory. With no dedicated goalkeeper available, Nya and Jemima showed great team spirit by stepping up to take turns in goal, making some crucial saves to keep us in the game.

From the first whistle, our team played with determination and energy. Jemima, then shortly after Maeve, opened the scoring with a brilliant strike, setting the tone for an exciting match. Phoenix responded with a goal of their own, but our team kept their composure as Jemima scored another!

The second half saw Maeve find the back of the net from almost the half way line, before the last five minutes where our seven girls took on the nine Pheonix girls. The entire squad put in a superb effort, with Alarna, Allegra, Lily, and Rhi Rhi working tirelessly in defence and midfield, showing great teamwork and resilience!��⚽��

Year 11 Students Experience Oxford University on 'Aspiring Higher' Trip

As part of the Aspiring Higher trip, thirty Year 11 pupils had the incredible opportunity to explore Oxford University, learning about its entry requirements and the expectations for joining any of its 26 colleges.

The day began with a critical thinking exercise and a wonderful lunch at Regent’s Park College, followed by an insightful Q&A session with current Oxford students. In the afternoon, we visited Jesus College, where pupils toured its facilities and discovered the many academic and extracurricular opportunities available.

Our students showed great enthusiasm, asking thoughtful questions and gaining valuable insights into how they can enhance their subject exploration in various ways. Their maturity, curiosity, and engagement were highly commended throughout the visit.

A special thanks to Mr. Narisetti, Mr. Willis, and Ms. Fraser for accompanying the trip, and to Miss Telford for coordinating with Regent’s Park College, where she completed her Master’s degree.

What a week of football! Our teams have been putting on incredible displays, showcasing skill, determination, and teamwork across multiple year groups.

7/8 Girls Secure a Stunning 5-0 Victory! On a sunny afternoon on the Astro, our team delivered an outstanding performance, securing a dominant 5-0 win against Hammersmith Academy! From the first whistle to the last, the squad played with confidence, showing massive improvement in our game.

Jemima was in top form, netting two brilliant goals—one tapped in at the back post from a fantastic assist by Alarna. Maeve added two more with some clinical finishing, while our relentless attacking play forced an own goal from Hammersmith Academy, sealing the final scoreline.

Our defense remained solid throughout, ensuring a well-earned clean sheet. A huge thank you to all the supporters who came to cheer us on—it made a real difference! We look forward to carrying this momentum into our next match.

9/10 Girls Make It Back-to-Back Wins with a 6-0 Triumph! Adding to the success of the 7/8 girls, the 9/10 girls delivered an absolute masterclass securing a sensational 6-0 victory! With goals from Grace, Ciara, and two each from Ruby Jo and Annabelle, the team dominated with an incredible 90% possession.

It was an exceptional start to the season, especially considering many of the players hadn’t played since last year. ��⚽️⚽️⚽️ Go team!

Year 7 Boys Keep the Winning Streak Alive! Topping off an incredible week, the Year 7 boys showcased their talent with two fantastic wins in two days!

Yesterday, they secured a composed 2-1 victory against Fulham Cross, with goals from Julio and Kassius.

Today, they followed it up with a convincing 5-2 win against WLFS, with goals from Kassius, Saul, Teddy, and Darci. Other schools have already recognized this team’s talent, and with 6 points in two days, they are proving to be a formidable side!

The astro pitch was buzzing at lunchtime with students and staff participating in our very own All Saints Record Breakers Competition! The energy was electric as everyone competed in high jump, 30m sprints, shot put, and a lively round of keepie-uppies. It was fantastic to see such determination and team spirit on display.

Creative Fashion in Food Tech

Meanwhile, in Creative Food Tech, students let their imaginations run wild by designing fashion garments using newspaper and masking tape. The highlight? A catwalk to showcase these inventive designs!

Bake Off for a Cause

Over in the main playground, we hosted a Bake Off featuring an array of delicious cakes that were not only a treat for the taste buds but also for a good cause. All proceeds went towards women’s charities, making every bite a contribution to empowering women.

Inspiring Rosettes After School

To wrap up the celebrations, students got crafty by creating their own rosette-style badges adorned with names and images of inspirational women. Wearing these badges with pride, they showcased their appreciation and admiration for the incredible achievements of women around the world.

A group of lucky students embarked on an unforgettable trip to see ABBA Voyage, a truly unique concert experience. This rewards trip was the result of their hard work and dedication throughout the term.

Held at the purpose-built ABBA Arena in London, the performance featured stunning holographic renditions of the legendary ABBA members, performing alongside a live band. The show was a spectacular fusion of technology and music, allowing the students to experience ABBA’s timeless hits in a whole new way.

The students were in awe as the concert’s immersive effects brought the music to life, and it was a joy to see them enjoying the night with friends, singing along and reliving the magic of ABBA’s music. The trip was not just about the music, but also about rewarding our students for their hard work and achievements, and providing them with a memorable experience.

The Year 7/8 girls’ football team kicked off their weekly tournament with a match against Holland Park’s Year 8s. Despite being a team predominantly composed of Year 7 players making their debuts, they demonstrated resilience and determination, growing in confidence as the game progressed.

In the final moments of the match, Maeve delivered a spectacular strike, securing the lead just two minutes before the final whistle. The team then dug deep, defending with everything they had, to preserve their victory. When the whistle blew, it was a well-deserved triumph, celebrated with Christmas karaoke on the journey home—a fitting way to cap off the day!

This year, the turnout for girls’ football has been outstanding, reflecting the enthusiasm and commitment of our players. They’re setting a fantastic example for the entire school community!

Our amazing Schola Cantorum delivered a breathtaking performance of Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem, leaving the audience profoundly moved and deeply inspired. Accompanied by the extraordinarily talented Ben Newlove on the French-style Gern organ, the music transported everyone to the heart of romantic Paris, capturing the elegance and emotional depth of this timeless masterpiece.

The evening demonstrated captivating organ solos performed by some of our most gifted students, whose skill and artistry shone brightly. Their performances set the tone for what would become a truly memorable night of music.

The combination of stunning choral voices, masterful organ accompaniment, and a thoughtfully curated program made this performance an unforgettable celebration of French romantic and modern sacred music. We had had the incredible privilege of hosting Olympic gold medalist sprinter Julien Alfred, and her visit left an indelible mark on everyone who had the chance to meet her. From the moment she stepped through our doors, her warmth, enthusiasm, and genuine passion for inspiring young people were striking.

Julien shared her remarkable journey - one that started with humble beginnings and grew into an extraordinary career at the pinnacle of athletics. She spoke candidly about the challenges she faced, from grueling training sessions to overcoming setbacks, and how she used each obstacle as an opportunity to grow stronger. Her message was clear: resilience, hard work, and a steadfast belief in oneself are the keys to achieving greatness.

We held an interactive Q&A session where students asked Julien everything from her training routine to how she stays motivated during tough times. Her thoughtful and encouraging responses left us all feeling inspired to chase our own dreams, no matter how ambitious they may seem.

We are incredibly grateful to Julien Alfred for taking the time to share her journey with us. Students and staff were captivated as Julien detailed the discipline and determination it took to earn Olympic gold. Her visit was not only a celebration of her incredible achievements but also a reminder to each of us that greatness is within our grasp if we dare to dream big and work hard. St Charles 1 Mile Fun Run

Our school community laced up their trainers for an exciting event: a 1-Mile Fun Run organized by PC Princeton, our dedicated Safer Schools Officer. This event was more than just a chance to stretch our legs—it’s about strengthening the bond between staff, students,

and the wider St. Charles community.

The Fun Run was a vibrant and inclusive occasion, with participants of all ages and fitness levels coming together to celebrate unity and well-being. Whether a seasoned runner or simply looking for a fun way to start the day, the event offered something for everyone. It was a fantastic opportunity to share the school’s positive spirit, meet new people, and enjoy a shared sense of accomplishment as we cross the finish line.

This initiative also highlights the importance of physical activity for both mental and physical health, reflecting PC Princeton’s commitment to fostering a safe, supportive, and healthy environment for all.

The Symphony Orchestra's Trip to see Chineke's concert

We were fortunate enough to have secured 20 free tickets for our symphony orchestra to hear Mr Hoglind play in Chineke’s concert at the Royal Festival Hall this evening. The students had an amazing time, and cheered SO loudly for the musicians that played their instrument.

The excitement among the students was palpable from the moment they arrived at the iconic venue.

The Chineke Orchestra, celebrated for its commitment to diversity and excellence in classical music, delivered a breathtaking performance that left everyone in awe. The level of artistry and passion displayed on stage was inspiring and sparked a renewed enthusiasm for music within our group.

Beyond the music, the evening was a chance for our students to experience the grandeur of a live concert in one of London’s most prestigious venues. It was an unforgettable night filled with inspiration, camaraderie, and a deepened love for music.

Year 7 First Debate Competition

Leo, Kane, and Alexander in Year 7 all took part in their first official debating competition at Collingham College. The boys had an amazing time competing and watching other students debate. Needless to say the boys were a little bit nervous having to compete against Sixth Formers, but they have put an incredible amount of effort in the build up to this and defied all expectations delivering arguments politicians could only dream of coming up with in the House of Commons. Both the other competitors and the judges were extremely impressed with the boys and they did the school very proud. A huge congratulations to them!
