  • WW1 Battlefields Trip

The Head of History, Mr Palmer took two lucky Year 9's on the First World War Centenary Battlefields Tour Programme. The tour included visits to various World War One cemeteries in Belgium and Northern France, including the famous Tyne Cot Cemetery, as well as the Somme Battlefields, the Ceremony of the Last Post at the Menin Gate and a performance of Journey's End in the centre of Ypres. The whole trip was not just hugely enjoyable but also a hugely beneficial learning experience and an invaluable reminder of the horrors of the First World War and the need for remembrance, to mark 100 years since the armistice to end The First World War was signed.

  • A sensational Open Evening

On Wednesday 3rd October the school hosted the most successful Open Evening it has ever seen. It was amazing to see over 800 people in the school buildings, with Y6s leading their families on a tour of the school and receiving celebratory stamps. Prospective students got to see some of the key improvements in the school, including the new Science labs, fitness suite, school library and toilets. Students also enjoyed some trampolining as well as five-a-side football on the school astro-turf pitch. We are aware the some parents weren't able to make it to the Open Evening or even see everything they wanted to. If that is the case, please come and visit us on our Open mornings or afternoons next week, click on the Open Days link at the top of the page. We hope to see you soon.
