St Ignatius of Loyola
SUBJECT
Why PE Matters
Physical Education supports both physical and mental well-being.
Through sport and activity, students build confidence, resilience and the habits needed to lead active, healthy lives beyond school.
MISSION
Our Approach
The Physical Education Department develops confident, active and resilient students.
All students are encouraged to participate, regardless of experience or ability. Alongside performance, students explore different roles within sport, including coaching, officiating and analysis, gaining a broader understanding of physical activity.
LEARNING
From Year 7 to GCSE
Students develop a wide range of physical skills through a varied and inclusive programme.
They build fitness, teamwork, and an understanding of health while learning how physical activity contributes to long-term well-being.
