  • Grenfell Tower Anniversary 14/06/20

Dear All Saints, This coming Sunday marks the third anniversary of the fire at Grenfell Tower, in which 72 members of our community tragically lost their lives.  This year, owing to the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic and social distancing measures we will come together as a community from our own homes. Below is a programme of events that have been decided upon to mark the anniversary. The Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea and the NHS are both well aware what a difficult time this can be for our community, perhaps this year more than ever as we find ourselves in the midst of the global Covid 19 pandemic. It means we cannot gather together to grieve in person but that does not mean we are alone in our grief. To this end, The NHS Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service have produced advice on how we can look after ourselves, our children and our families during this time. Leaflets are attached at the bottom of this post. Over the anniversary weekend the Grenfell Health and Wellbeing Service can be contacted on 020 6837 2279 (8am - 8pm) should you need support, advice or feel worried about yourself or someone you know. Their team of therapists are ready to speak to you over the phone or via video call. For urgent advice please call the CNWL Urgent Advice line on 0800 0234 650. In addition, the Royal Borough of Kensington & Chelsea have linked up with NHS West London to produce guidance on taking part, social distancing and looking after each other during what is a very difficult period. Their guidance is attached at the bottom of this post. Please follow this advice and put the safety of others first. We are together in heart and spirit and there are things we can do remotely to stay connected and keep safe. God Bless. All Saints Catholic College

  • RBKC Youth Mayor Election

On Wednesday 18th March our students took part in the first ever RBKC Youth Election. Students from all across the borough were invited to elect the first RBKC Youth Mayor. The RBKC Youth Mayor is the elected representative for all young people living and studying in Kensington and Chelsea. They will act as the formal representative and spokesperson for the borough's young people. They will provide a link to the borough's Mayor, Lead Members and other decision making bodies. They will work with the Youth Council and Youth Ambassador to manage the Youth Participation Fund budget of £40,000. Twelve candidates from various schools and colleges across the borough put themselves forward and made manifestos in order to earn student's votes. We're delighted to announce that the eventual winner was Imaan Abdi in Year 11, she received 34% of all votes cast! Huge congratulations to Imaan and a huge thank you to students across the borough for voting for her. Everyone at All Saints is delighted for you and we know that you will do the young people of RBKC proud in your new role.
