The role of the governing body
The Board of Governors plays an important role in the life and leadership of All Saints Catholic College.
Governors work with the Headteacher and senior leaders to support the strategic direction of the school, uphold its Catholic mission, promote high standards, monitor school performance and ensure that the school’s finances and statutory responsibilities are managed properly.
The Headteacher is responsible for the day-to-day running of the school. The Board provides support, challenge and oversight.

Mission
Supporting the Catholic ethos, values and formation of the school community.
Standards & Performance
Monitoring achievement, school improvement and the quality of education.
Support & Challenge
Acting as a critical friend to the Headteacher and senior leaders.
Finance & Resources
Helping to ensure that finances, staffing and buildings are managed responsibly.
Policies & Accountability
Overseeing governance, statutory duties and key school policies.
Board structure
Meetings and committees
The Board meets five times a year. It also has committees that meet at least termly, with a focus on finance, premises and personnel, curriculum, and Catholic life.
Governors may also take on specific link roles or support strategic projects, including safeguarding, SEND, wellbeing, risk management, finance, and Catholic life.

The Board of Governors is made up of foundation governors, parent governors, staff governors, local authority governors and associate governors.
Together, they support the Headteacher and senior leaders in the strategic leadership of All Saints Catholic College. Governors bring a range of experience and responsibilities, including Catholic life, curriculum, finance, safeguarding, SEND, wellbeing and risk management.
