Duke of Edinburgh Silver Award

Duke of Edinburgh Silver Practice Expedition

Our students recently took part in their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Silver Practice Expedition, putting their teamwork, resilience and independence to the test. They travelled to Wendover, in Buckinghamshire and then headed towards Ivinghoe Beacons.

Working in teams, students navigated their route, carried everything they needed and worked together to overcome the challenges they encountered along the way. The practice expedition provided an important opportunity to develop the skills they will need for their qualifying expedition, including navigation, organisation, communication and problem-solving.

The Silver Award represents a significant step up in challenge, requiring greater independence, stamina and determination. Our students rose to the occasion, supporting one another and showing a fantastic attitude throughout.

Well done to everyone who took part and to Mr Shore for leading the group. We look forward to seeing them put everything they have learned into practice during their qualifying expedition.
